Help With Picking A Processor.

Thread Starter
Am upgrading after a very long time.

Genuine Intel(R) CPU 1GB RAM 250 HDD <-- What I have right now shocking I know haha

Am looking at a number on laptops and got it down to two but I don't really under processor and what is best for me.

Laptop 1

Intel Core i3-380 Processor
4Gb RAM
320Gb Hard Drive
15.6" HD LED-backlit (1366 x 768) display
DVD Super Multi drive
802.11 b/g WiFi
0.3Mp webcam
2x USB

Laptop 2

Intel Celeron B815 processor
4Gb RAM
320Gb Hard Drive
15.6" Hi-definition screen
DVD/RW optical drive

The Laptop will be used for Internet mainly but was hoping for maybe a little light gaming out of it also any help that can be given would be of great help many thanks.

Laptop 1 definitely, though I am surprised it doesn't even have 802.11n WiFi.

If you are hoping to have your new computer for a long time, I would advise to you to look at desktops or build your htpc. All the laptops I've had have died in 2 years.

Try an Asus G-series next time. My G73 is right on about 2.5years old and still kickin'. wink.gif

Hmmm.... maybe it's running on borrowed time. eek.gif

If you only are picking between the ones listed then go with the first one. If all your doing is internet and light gaming then I would say go with an AMD APU. I have a HP G7 with a dual core AMD APU A6-3420M (got for $400 at Best Buy and it has a 17" screen), and their integrated graphics are much better than intels. I play Skyrim with mods on high settings no problems, as well as Mass Effect etc. If you have to go Intel just make sure you get one with a dedicated graphics card to game.
