My Samsung DLP won't come on...

Hello all!
I have searched this site for info on my problem but I could not find what I was looking for.
My Samsung HL-T5076S powers up but the picture never comes on and then it powers off. I have replace the ballast because for a while there I would not turn it off at all in fear of it not turning back on, until my brother turned it off...Never came back. It powers up and the lamp is on but no picture..I also verified the color wheel is spinning.
When it is trying to come on I do notice three white dots in the top left of the screen and have heard all about them on here.
Is this a DMD board or chip issue?

Please help me out....
It's getting to the point of not worth the tv itself to fix but I like a good challenge, specially when everyone thinks I can't get it fix.....Thats when I get stupid wasting money on parts...

Oh well, it's fun though!biggrin.gif

That the lamp fire up, can you see the screen light up at all or can you see from the rear that the lamp is firing up?
Have you looked through the 'sticky' on repair at the top of the sub-forums home page?

The lamp does stay on?
Have you tried all inputs? RF input?
Can you access the menu?
Do you get at least a dim (gray) screen?

It tries to come up but then powers off.

I know there's someone out there with the answer....

Powers up, ballast fires, lamp comes on, color wheel spinning....but there is a cluster of white dots in the top left corner that weren't there before I had issues. Yet after about 3 min it still shuts back off.
Lamp and Ballast are new.
Thats the skinny on what my dlp tv is doing...

Any help out there???

Well after much research I decided to buy a DMD board. Hope this works, it's getting to the point of not worth it. But it has turned into fight me vs the dlp....I should have just got rid of it when it broke because seeing it there on the floor mocking me just makes me want to figure out the problem.

Ok had to cancel the order because I thought the main AV board was the dmd board. I did order the correct board and hope its not the chip that is bad...

bmann- I'm experiencing what sounds like the same issue and wondering if it may be a board issue. Also looking for answers so I don't buy parts I may not need. To add a little more to what you describe...

4 or 5 yo Samsung HLT5075S
On my 3rd bulb and 2nd color wheel - did the work myself
First time I experienced this was a few weeks ago, but now experiencing this consistently on almost every initial power on
Power on the unit and don't hear the melody.
Green light flashes.
Lamp comes on (screen is dark but is lit, lamp shines bright through back panel.
After a couple of minutes, it powers itself off.
So far, every second attempt results in a successful power on (melody, picture, etc), but not confident that it will continue to always do so.
