passive sub hook up suggestions please

So my 2 BU120's finally blew (notorious machine gun amp). Anyways, the subs are still in great shape, so I decided to make them passive subs running off of a onkyo 2 channel amp. My question is this:
I want to move the subs to the front of the home theater by my front tower speakers. I have not run any speaker wire there for the subs yet, but can I splice them into my front speakers? Or am I better off running cables to the subs separately and keep using the amps to power them? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated :-)

If your using an AVR, connect an RCA cable from the AVR's sub-output to the 2 channel Onkyo Amp, You may need an Y splitter unless, your 2 channel amp has a Mono switch to send signals to both left and right channels.

Not advisable to connect the subwoofers together with the Fronts, as the fronts are (normally) filtered to remove the bass. besides the now passive amp dont have any crossover.
