i had got a onkyo S3300 when i bought my house as I was on a bit of a budget at the time. but now I have been slowly upgrading speakers, and now its time for a new AVR

my max price is $300 and really would ilke to get 7.1

right now I am considierng the Denon AVR 790(factory refurb) for ~295
and the Pioneer VSX-1022-K(brand new) for 300

both to me seem to be very close in specs but really I dont know much about recievers
is there anything else out there that I should be looking at?

You can get an 890 or 2310 which have a better feature set than the AVR-790 for less than that.

If you need the networking of the Pioneer 1022 then get that one but for overall sound I'd take one of the Denon models.

oh nice didnt know of that website. was recommended to goto dakmart. Do they tend to keep these in stock for long?

Yes, they seem to have those models in stock on a regular basis. Much easier website to navigate than Dakmart too, plus they throw in a free iPod dock with those two models.
