Receiver for Bose Acoustimass 10

I recently moved into a new house, and the previous owner left a Bose Acoustimass 10 speaker system. The lady never purchased a receiver for it, so I'll need to pick one up. No offense here, but I'm not really posting this to hear about the terribleness of Bose. It was free, and completely unused. However, I cannot take it back, and I'm not interested in going through the hassle of selling it at this point in time.

The house is wired for surround sound, and there are a couple of speakers on the back porch (which I'm pretty sure I'll need to replace. I would like a receiver I can use for the Acoustimass and to play music through those speakers outside. So I think I need one that has two zones, correct?

I know next to nothing about receivers, so I'd greatly appreciate any advice.

Thank you very much for your response. Yes, she did leave me the base module. It was actually completely unopened. I will be connecting the acousitmass, of course, and also a directv receiver, and a playstation 3.

I'd like to keep it under $400 if I can. I definitely want to be able to use my outside speakers as well.

I've been looking, and I'm considering the Yamaha RX-V671. Would that be a solid choice, or is there something else I should be looking at? The only concern I've seen with that receiver, is that I have Directv.

So, for my purposes, it wouldn't likely matter whether or not I had Audyssey or YPAO? Do you have any suggestions on receivers? Your comments are much appreciated, as I'm in a little over my head with receivers.

I have a feeling this is an exceptionally stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Doing that would eliminate the receivers ability to upscale to 1080p, correct?

Thank you. You have been extremely helpful. Even preemptively, as I just found out that my TV doesn't support ARC, so I'll automatically need to use the work around you suggested.

I actually was going to order it from Amazon, but I called my local HH Gregg and they price matched it, so I purchased it from there. I thought it was a solid deal as well.
