HT SlideVision Trivia Slides Volume two now available in 2 new formats

Home Theater SlideVision is a set of slides I have created for Pre-Show entertainment and/or intermission at Home Theater events. Volume two includes Star Wars the complete saga, all four Pirates of the Caribbean movies, the first four Alien series movies not including Prometheus and Superman 1-4 plus Superman Returns. You can see examples of the slides and track the history of their development at the following threads...

Star Wars The Complete Saga

Pirates of the Caribbean

Alien Quadrilogy

Superman 1-5

The 4 series slides combined total 1,785 individual slides.

I have also added 65 misc bonus slides I made a few years back, That brings the total number of slides to 1,850.

Lastly I have added 53 Surround Intros including DTS, Dolby Digital & THX.

Be aware the Alien movies are Rated R and the slides should be considered the same. They have some violent images and harsh language

Note that I’m just a Home Theater enthusiast like many of you and not an expert by any means at graphic design or video compilation. That being said I’ve done my best to make everything look and sound as professional as possible. If you do find errors let me know and I will correct them and email you the corrected slide.

Slides are in JPEG format 1920x1080 as well as in their original paint.net format so anyone can edit them.

I used Paint.net. a freeware application to make these slides so anyone can edit them or create more if they like. I will include a .TXT file with the link where the free editing software can be downloaded. I have also included all the creation files on the DVD's
Paint.net - for Slide editing & creating

Besides the JPEG slides only version I have also made available two other versions to choose from. Click on the links below for more details and ordering information...

Slide Vision Vol. 2 HT-PC Version - Will play on all Home Theater PC's and most Blu-Ray players. The collection includes .MKV video files with all the slides put to 5.1 surround theme music in the collection mixed in with Surround sound intros and movie trailers in a customizable format. All in 720p for a total play time of 12 hours. Cost 10.00

Slide Vision Vol. 2 100% Playable DVD - Will play on ALL Blu-Ray and DVD players. The DVD has a standard menu system. The DVD's include videos with all the slides put to 5.1 surround theme music in the collection mixed in with Surround sound intros and movie trailers. All in 480p for a total play time of 12 hours. Cost 17.00

Below are a few screenshots of the menu system and a demo trivia video...

The collection is sent through the mail on 2 DVD's sorry no download option at this time.

The files on the discs are all in sub folders so you will probably want to re-arrange them on your computer before using them in a Pre-Show

The minimum Paypal payment is $10.00. That covers the DVDs, Plastic DVD Sleeves, Packaging, Paypal fees and Shipping fees. If interested, Paypal to gamephoenix54@gmail.com

Tips are welcome but not required.

For anyone out side the continental U.S. PM me with your full address and I will quote how much the total will be with shipping. Canada is an additional $2.00

Please don't upload this for redistribution elsewhere. I'd like to keep them here in the AVS community.

PM with questions and please feel free to use this thread to post with suggestions on programs to use for making and using these slides, etc.

All the slides have now been completed. Found a few more errors that have been fixed.

I had to remove the Surround Sound Intros from the collection because they put me just over the edge for everything fitting on one DVD.
I will have to add those to a future volume or if you REALLY want them I can burn them on a 2nd DVD for an extra $1.00.

I put the collection into beta with just a few selected individuals to try and find typos and errors before they go live. You can order them now if you like and any errors found will be corrected and the corrected slides will be emailed to you. I can't email corrections on the videos so those you would have to update yourselves. Hopefully the beta will go quick and I can have these live in a week or two at the very most.

Sorry for all the crazy changes since the beginning of the project.

3 copies of the beta have been mailed out to members today for error checking. I did a slew of minor punctuation and grammar errors last night. Hopefully between the four of us we can weed out any additional errors before release.

You can see some of the error changes on the Pirates & Aliens pages.

Oops! I noticed these were all sized 1900x1080 as was specified in the original post of this thread. I re-sized all the slides to 1920x1080 tonight (1080p), That only took two and a half hours.eek.gif

I also noticed during screen tests on the Alien Resurrection Q&A slides it was difficult to read the word resurrection in green near the top. So I changed the word to red, not my first choice but it seems to stand out from the background better than anything else.

You can visit the Alien series slide thread for a sample of the change.

I've corrected all the errors now that i could find.

While I'm waiting for the beta testers to receive their copies I'm updating the slides I made a couple of years ago to add to the package as bonus materials. Some of those slides were made from Steven Goods Coke Screenplay Vol.6. Those slides I will try and donate to Steven. Otherwise I don't really think it's appropriate to add them to this collection since it's not entirely my work and I certainly don't want to step on any toes.

Here is a link to where they reside on Flickr, note I have re-sized these to 1920x1080 as well and replaced the coke film reels with the ones from the Pirates of the Caribbean. Note the images at Flikr are the unchanged versions as I can no longer gain access to the account to update them. Gotta love Yahoo, password retrieval nightmare process. eek.gif

I just updated and added Superman 1-4 plus Superman Returns to the collection. There are 58 slides to the series. I added a link to the Superman slides demo thread to the original thread post. I also completed the re-editing of the Flickr slides as bonus material there are 65 slides included in that category. So now the total collection includes 506 slides. The total size on the DVD is now 4.04GB so I think this it for additional material. Just waiting on reports back from beta testers now before I go live with this collection.

I've been creating bonus slides for Superman between making corrections from the beta testers. There are a couple more reports I'm waiting on. I will release the collection Tuesday morning after all corrections are completed. Here are a few of the bonus slides for Superman...

Yes the DVD includes all 500+ slides in both JPEG format and their original Paint.net format.

All BDP players support the JPEG format and most support .MKV

I looked yours up and and found the answer here, which is yes. With a brand like Oppo did you really have any doubt? Very nice player BTW cool.gif
Found it here...

http://wiki.oppodigital.com/index.php?title=BDP-93_Media_Files_FAQ#What_kind_of_user_created_media_is_supported.3F

I'd be happy to look up players for other members in the future, if their player did not support .MKV I can always convert the video files for your copy to a compatible format before sending it out.

I'm not an English major, but my mom was an English/Reading/Speech teacher... and I believe it should be "an hors d'oeuvre" because the h is silent and the next sound is a vowel sound.

Thanks Jeff, you would know, the change has been made.

Good news, for those who followed the project early on, you may remember there were some Surround intros originally that were going to be included. Space constraints on the DVD prevented those from being added, thanks to some innovative file formatting I have made it possible for those files to now fit on the DVD. There are now 53 Surround intros included on the DVD.

Don't worry those who have already ordered are being mailed a replacement DVD.

I've begun work on Volume 2. It will include all six Star Wars movies and will take about 2 months to complete. I will include the majority of Volume 1 on the Volume 2 DVD.

A few things are changing with Volume 2. I have decided to drop the .MKV videos with 5.1 music. The .MKV files from Volume 1 will NOT be included on the Volume 2 DVD. Also the 5.1 intros may or may not be included depending on how much room is left after combining the two volumes. In adiition the bonus slides will be dropped from Volume One.

Wish i had more feedback on what people like and do not like in Volume One so I could incorporate those options in the creation process of Volume 2, If your out there and you do have some likes and dislikes pipe up now so you can help Volume 2 be a better product. I should have a new thread up for Volume 2 in a week or so.

Volume One will be available for purchase until Volume 2 is released. Just be advised, those on the fence will not have not have the opportunity to take advantage of the 5.1 .MKV videos and extra content once Volume 2 is released.
