One ignored issue is that, due to normal neural adaptation, even those with hearing deficiencies adopt real world sound through their own particular transfer function as reference and tend to reject customized compensations as unnatural. This suggests a standard flat compensation works for all.

Preference, of course, is another story.

Makes sense to me; I've become a major supporter of Salk speakers lately, and he's certainly a champion of flat speakers smile.gif
