New to all this. How did I do?

So I bought a new house and decided to put make a room into a dedicated HT. The room itself was not a perfect box shape so I had to work with it. I also had a budget and am not good at doing things myself. I used this forum and a few others to guide what I would purchase as well. Let me know how you think I did!

Projector : Epson 8350
Projector Screen : Grand View Motorized 92 Inch 1.0 Gain (white)
Receiver : Pioneer Elite VSX - 42
Center Speaker - Polk Audio Scc
Surround Sound - SCi Series SC60 in Ceiling
Sub Woofer - Polk 10 inch sub. PSW108

All four of my windows will be boxed in with a special type of board and made to where I can hang movie posters on them. All the walls will also be painted a very dark brown (including the ceiling). The carpet is beige. So there should be no ambient light getting into the room. I plan on upgrading the speakers in about five years to ones that are not in the wall (I will just leave them in the wall not hooked up). I will be about 200 inches or so from the screen when I sit down. Eventually when everything is finished I will post pics!

Welcome to the club. I'm sure after reading through this forum you'll have the upgrade itch in no time.

I had a set of those SCi speakers that I used for whole-house audio and really liked the sound. You could easily get away with upgrading your fronts and center while keeping the surrounds for a little longer if you want to space things out.

Thanks for the feedback! I have been reading a lot and am already thinking about how I am going to space out my upgrades and what I want to do. This site is amazing and the people are very knowledgable. Again thanks.

you will be sitting way to far away from that small of a screen, it will just like you are watching a television. You should be at about half that distance. I sit 130 inches from a 116 inch wide 2.35:1 screen.

Good luck with it, I'm new here too and it's pretty overwhelming!
