LOL.
Although it IS true humans can't put on THAT much muscle mass without help from the corner drugstore, Arnie is still lovable.
His sense of humor is what separates him from the rest....wink.gif

Well some friends of mine in L.A. saw this and they loved it so... I am still going on Tuesday. The biggest problem today is that younger movie goers are ageists. They will NOT go to a movie starring "some old guy" and Arnold looks old.

Thats very true. But know Im getting older im appreciating more of the older films eg Ben Hur etc

Not me. I was fine with that. Recent marketing results show movie audiences are particularly prone to wanting their stars young young young. It's a different time today.

How do you explain the sudden infatuation with Betty White?

Simple. Old ladies aren't supposed to be so ribald. Same as when a cute, demure-looking chick like Sarah Silverman starts talking a blue streak. It's the shock value, you just don't expect it. Plus, you have to have a good sense of humor about yourself and understand the nature of comedy. Betty "gets it", and she's appreciative of her second career opportunity that basically just happened because she got cast in a Snickers commercial. She's certainly made the most of it.

Then Arnold needs to tell dirty jokes.

Speaking of Ben Hur, I rented the 50th anniversary edition BD of the 1959 film a couple of years ago and loved it. The BD also contained the 1925 silent version of Ben Hur, starring Ramon Novarro and Francis X. Bushman. It was great too. The BD is available from Amazon for $9.99.

At that price you can't go wrong. I bought the boxset from amazon when they had there special which included a lot of goodies. At the time it was a blind buy and it was well worth it.

This is just tremendous news but if they don't shoot this within the next 5 yrs no amount of make up can hide a 70 year old.

Schwarzenegger Confirms He'll Be Back For TERMINATOR 5!!

Arnold says yes, with Bleeding Cool reporting that Schwarzenegger himself stated at the London junket for THE LAST STAND that he'd be appearing in the next TERMINATOR. And you know that, if TERMINATOR 5 is going to happen, there is no way an opportunity to include the original T-800 is going to be passed up.

Unless the machines in the future have found a way to age in order to look more human, a terminator movie at his age is a ridiculous idea. What's it gonna be this time, lightning strikes at a rest home revealing a naked T-800 with a girdle? ....Where's Christian Bale when you need him?

It will be intresting to see how it will turn out.

I would rather see him do a new Predator instead. The terminator plot has become stale by now IMHO..

Possibly like in Salvation those units appeared to be based of a real human. It's possible to see old Arnie post Judgement Day as an aged human they based T-800's off of?

Agreed.
Arnie can play an old general who becomes a target for his actions in the first movie.

Thats almost exactly what I wanted from the 4th Terminator movie.
In a new Predator can Arnie be goddam sexual tyrannosaur?

That's actually not a bad idea.

I chose Mama on opening day, but I caught this last night. Politics have really aged Arnold smile.gif. Forrest Whitaker was cracking me up with his over emotional acting biggrin.gif. What I don't get about the movie is...
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
First of, how is Arnold's little band of local country cops able to match gunfire with professional hitmen from a vicious Mexican cartel biggrin.gif?! His crew only has archaic weaponry! Yet they're able to keep the cartel army under suppression fire! They should have been steamrolled biggrin.gif!

Also, do you honestly expect me to believe that the FBI is gonna be THAT slow getting to the border to intercept a dangerous cartel boss?! And leave it to Arnold to stop him?! The FBI would have a heavily armed SWAT team at that border within MINUTES! SECONDS biggrin.gif!

I know some reality has to be taken out or there wouldn't be movie biggrin.gif...but its fun to point out these inconsistencies biggrin.gif!

I expect everything with FEDERAL in the title to be slow at all the things. SO yeah, getting local LEO to do their work is all reasonable.

Right now I am not inclined to see The Last Stand but Mama intrigues me. I have avoided Mama up to now because both the critics and the viewing public have had mixed opinions about it. Still it has a terrific cast and the legendarily un-pleasable critic Stephanie Zacharek liked it. What did you think of Mama? Sorry for this off topic meandering but I can't believe any film with both Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau could be too bad, so am curious.

Saw the film. Really hated it. #1. Arnold looks his age. His hands are downright arthritic. #2 and far more important: The script was lame and the action set pieces ranged from boring to insultingly stupid. The money was not on screen. Logic was nowhere to be found. This makes Arnold's lamest action films from the 80's look like A level entertainment.

I can watch COMMANDO, PREDATOR, TRUE LIES, TOTAL RECALL again and again and again and again. If RAW DEAL or RED HEAT or THE RUNNING MAN are on cable I can tolerate them and even enjoy scenes here and there.

But I wish I had not wasted $7 on this turd.

Not surprised. The trailers of this and Arnold's scenes in Expendables 2 are horrid.

He needs to learn from Clint Eastwood and be cooler, calmer in scenes. Less is more etc.

All of the trailers for the Expendables' movies look horrid to me.
Nothing worse than watching a bunch of old genre stars grunting and pretending to be young in my HT.tongue.gif
