WHS 2011 - a little help

I have been transitioning my unraid server to an existing WHS 2011 setup that I have. at the same time I installed flexraid snapshot raid to give me parity protection. I didn't access the server for the week or so it took to transfer everything over but once all the data had been transferred and parity had been calculated in unraid I tried to access the network shares from my htpc it cannot not see the server. I can remote desktop into the server, I can access the web page but the network shares are non existent. I have gone in and tried to re-share the shares but it didn't help. I posted over on the flexraid forums but apparently Brahim, the owner is to busy to help new customers.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Log onto the server itself and reset the share... set the flex drive to share... with full rights.

Restart.

I tried logging into the server with rep and resetting the share and it didn't help. When you say set the flex drive to share with full rights are you referring to the parity drives?

Just wanted to bump this once before reinstalling the OS.

No. I usually just click on the drive on the server and set the rights to full share.

It should set the rights for the entire flex array....

It's not a storage pool, just snapshot raid.

Ok- so your saying that your other PC's can not see or access the drive on the server ??

Sounds like a share problem/

Log directly onto the server and reset the share permissions. Also- Check the "owner" and the set up users.

Did you map the drive on your PC ??? it will usually ask you for a name and password. Make sure you enter them correct and you should see your drive.

If your Drive is there on the server itself- but not accessible from the PC's then your problem is in a setting and you don't need to reinstall.

I had a problem like that and I just reset the share permissions, double checked the users and homegroup settings- made sure I had the right password.

Then I check the "owner" of the shared folders and reset them all using they "sub folders and files too" setting checked off.

After it did it's thing- I reset both my PC and my server and it worked perfectly.

I had a moment of clarity today at lunch. I updated to mt lion recently as well so I fired up my windows VM and it sees the shares fine, wife's macbook is still on lion, It works fine also so it seems to be a problem with mt lion and windows shares.
