Second TV options

I currently use an HTPC for recording live tv and storing movies. Upstairs I use a Roku to stream things from the HTPC. The Roku is nice as I can use it to access Netflix, but is limited obviously. I'm looking for something that I could use in the basement and am considering a second Roku, but it would be nice to be able to access the web directly. Are there other options for under $100?

Perhaps a Roku is my only option under $100. Can someone explain what an extender is and how that works? Maybe that is an option.
