Looking for a small single tape (cassette) deck which could be hooked up to amp

My mom's old school and has a bunch of tapes. She listens to music in the kitchen, so I'm looking to get her something to which I can add an amp and some nice speakers. Since its going to be in a tight space in the kitchen I can't fit a full size cassette deck, so I'm looking for the mini sized ones.

A perfect example of what I'm looking for would be this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Denon-DRR-M30-Cassette-metallic-silver/dp/B0000BZHG3
or this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Teac-R-H-500-Cassette-Deck/dp/B00009VM2G

I can't seem to find anything like this which is still in production. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Oh, and I live in the u.s., I just used those uk links because those were the first things that showed up on google images.

any thrift stores near you? they might have a old aiwa or sony mini system with speakers. i bought a panasonic mini stereo system last week at a thrift store for 10 bucks. it has a tape player with it. i don't think that mine is in production anymore.

Does your country have anything like craigslist? maybe someone would sell you what your looking for cheap. I see single tape players that can be connected to a receiver or amp at thrift stores alot. they usually cost 10 to 20 bucks used.
