Good Slideshow Software for PC

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good slideshow software on the PC? Windows Media player for music and Windows default jpg viewer works but clunky. Tried XBMC but can't tie music in and again, have to start both independently. Looking for something that is easy and as good as the Apple TV slideshow when you view photos, music is tied in automatically to what you set. Cool transitions is a bonus.

I maintain a plugin for XBMC called Artist Slideshow that, among other things, allows you to play a slideshow of any images while playing music. You have to pick the folder of images in the settings and then start the music, but after that it would always display that folder of images. I'm not sure it's exactly what you're looking for, but it's probably close. Here's a link to the wiki page for the addon. It includes instructions on how to download it from the official XBMC addon repo, descriptions of all the options, and a link to the thread on the XBMC forums for questions and support.

I use a freeware called XnView. I originally found it for converting Kodak's long forgotten K25 file format. It can read Nikon RAW format. The review pane arrangement, resizing, crop, slideshow, rotation functions are all pretty easy.

Have you tried the WMC slideshow? It's pretty damn good.

Thanks for all the responses. Let me address one at a time.

@pkscout, thanks for sharing the XBMC plugin. Will have to check out the plugin in detail.

@dksc318, XnView looks great actually. It does not seem to be updated for a while, not sure I want to test it on a WIn 7 64bit system?

@DeathPoobar, is WMC = Windows Media Center? If so, does it do a live slideshow or did you mean I have to create one, export it then play it?
