I have some 3.5" diameter water pipes inside one wall of my theater room and up near the 9' ceiling.... see pictures below. I thought I might wrap the pipes that will be hidden inside the soffit, but I'm not sure what material to use. As for the pipe in the 2X6 wall, I can either wrap the pipe or do a double studded wall and place drywall on the theater side of the 2X6 wall (first pic) and then do another 2x4 wall attached by a bracket or clip to the 2X6 wall. I would prefer not to do this, since I would rather keep that extra several inches. Do you think wrapping the pipes and then using DD GG would work? Also, I would appreciate any ideas on what to do with the pipes up near the ceiling (second pic... which will be covered by a soffit of some sort). Thanks!
