Mitsubishi WD-65C9. Any good?

I've been looking to upgrade my garbage tv (Insignia 42" 1080p LCD). I was looking at 50-55" Panasonic UT or ST plasmas, but saw an ad on Craigslist for a WD-65C9 which he said was used sparingly and is selling because he got a front projector. Bulb is supossedly good. He asked $575, accepted $525 for the tv and matching stand. Good deal?

I don't have a ton of money, so obviously a 65 DLP for a lot less than a smaller plasma has me excited a bit. I looked up the model, 1080p, 3D, etc. Anyone have experience with this set and what I should look for when I check it out?

That's a pretty good deal. So long as it's all in excellent condition.

I had bought a Mits I think of the same model year, but different model. At least I think it came out the same year. It was the WD-65736. These sets came out in 2008 I believe. More or less the same TV as the C9. I may be off by a year either way on these sets. But close enough irregardless. Considering you're getting the stand as well that's what makes it a pretty good deal in my book.

The only problem I'd have with buying that set, is that Mits has really come a long way in the last couple of years in the PQ department with their RPTV's.

I bought last years WD-73640, and I just have a tough time watching my older set, the PQ improvement is just substantial in my opinion.

I just cringe looking at that old TV. frown.gif

If you do buy that set, make sure you don't look at any of the newer models.

That way you won't know what you're missing by going with the older TV. biggrin.gif
