Hard to believe that there isn't a single comment about this show which just had a six-episode run on IFC, This is the first series from Alan Spencer since SLEDGE HAMMER...but it's so much better! (Less network censorship.) Just having Eddie Izzard and Eric Roberts as rival, warring crime bosses is fun enough. But the actor playing Guntar Volger (Max Williams) makes it fly. At first, it seemed too caricaturist with that heavy German accent. But the sheer glee he brings to his role as an evil killer forced to work with law enforcement is infectious. If they ever needed to find someone to play The Joker in a future Batman reboot, they need look no further. Aside from having the maniacal laugh down pat, he wouldn't even need any make-up...just dye the hair green and he's all set!. There is so much quotable dialogue that I wouldn't even begin to select just one line to repeat here. And yes, it occasionally gets a bit bloody too. Funny, violent, deranged, politically-incorrect...there's absolutely nothing like it on TV, on ANY channel. A must-see!
