Guild Wars 2 - Page 2

This game is a ton of fun but I really have no idea what I'm doing. The "orange events" seem to get everyone involved. The dead bodies stack up quick. I've also. Been learning the crafting system. I made a rifle, a horn and some leather armor. Currently sitting at level 10!

Join the club. It's fun but it sorely needs well spelled out instructions. Pretty lame they just sort of leave us to our own devices. I'm really clueless as to what half the things in the game means.biggrin.gif

I have a bunch of "totems". I finally crafted an 8 slot bag. Leather can be found from salvaging some of the crud you find, also it can be found in some of the tiny ice bags.

Almost every game I play seems that way to me at first.

I'm level 18 and still have no idea where to find crafting tables. I found one once and forgot where they were and now just can't seem to find them again.biggrin.gif

Go to your capital city and look for the spot where there is like, a little pelt, a pair of scissors, a little jewel, etc. Those are the crafting sections.

Just bring up the map. Leather working is pretty cool to start because you can make the damn bags. The leather is tough to find though. I have all these cooking materials but I have no clue what to do with them. Once the auction house goes up I guess well get a better understanding of item value.

If you are in Queensland they are in Claypool which is the southernmost part of Queensland.

Crafting tables also give access to your bank.
You can find the crafting tables in Holebrook for sure. That's where I've been doing most of my work. Is this game on multiple servers or just one?

So the trading post went up for me today. Seems funny that the leather required to make the bag is worth more than the bag itself. Kind of defeats the purpose of crafting? Who knows though. I read over on Gaf that the trading post isn't up for everyone.

Loving this game. Started with a Norn Mesmer (female) and made it to 21 before trying out a Human Warrior (female). Have a Charr Engineer (male) that I have not started to play yet. Very addicting!

Each race should have one in their capital city. Some of them can be a pain to find.

The lack of a trading post (I've seen it up for maybe 30 minutes of the 15-20 hours I've played since launch, and even then it didn't work) has done more to hurt my enjoyment of the game than anything else. I can't sell what I craft and I can't buy a couple materials in a pinch.

Hopefully when it is up for everybody for a week or two, prices will normalize. I saw 44 copper for one crafting material and you need 3 of them to make an inscription. It's terrible.

The TP is supposed to be up for everyone now.

New ATI 12.8 CAPS 2 w/GW2 support (CAPS are only needed if you have Crossfire config). I got a nice performance boost on my tri-Crossfire 6950 setup.

My solo 6970 thanks you sir! I plan to start this game this weekend. I've been on 12.4 for awhile and this one looks good.

EDIT: I'm reading that it improves the frame rate by up to 10% in games like Skyrim while dropping the temps by 6% -9%.

Thanks. I haven't read it all yet but it is good. It has a great tip about Lions Arch containing crafting stations, auction house, bank and Mystic Forge.

Prepare for some sleepness lights once you start. This game has been one of the few where when I get home from work (night shift) and try sneaking in an hour or two while getting the kids ready for school and staying up past my bed time to play. Crafting on this game has been a lot of fun and something I look forward to when playing unlike other MMOs.

How do you change professions? I feel like I picked 2 of the worst ones: Jeweler and Leatherworker. I heard chef/food-worker was pretty good.
I'm interested in trying the game out. Do they have a trial or demo I can download?

I've never played the Guild Wars series, but I have played WoW. How does it compare? I'm most interested in PvP and casual PvE.

What server are you on?

Demo? No. I doubt there will ever be a demo for GW2 because it's such a huge open world game. I suggest you wait for a sale if you're hesitant about jumping in.

How it compares to WoW I'll let others say because I never really played it all that much. All I know is I'm lvl 27 and I still feel I've just touched the surface of all that's going on in the game.

I believe that you can go up to any crafting trainer and start crafting, you can always go back to that other crafting skill if you want later. Here is a fantastic crafting guide, check it out! http://gaiscioch.com/tavern/guildwars_crafting/post_35198.html

The Chef one can and will get expensive from what members of my guild have said. Jeweler I thought is easier to pick up and craft then that the artificer which is driving me crazy. Overall the crafting is well done in the game I thought.

Has anyone done the Captain Weyandt Puzzle yet over in Lion's Arch? This is easily the best Puzzle I have found yet in GW2. Not an easy one to live through the first time or 10 when you find the entrance biggrin.gif I managed to complete it with a Guild mate and some help from another person doing the puzzle at the same time (love how you do not need to group!). Hell it even has a decent loot chest for when you complete it. At this time I am not sure if you can do it once per character (for the loot), or once per day...

YES! It's a pain in the butt, but it's awesome too! Lion's Arch has a lot of wonderful scenery, it's definitely worth it to complete the entire map, all the waypoints, poi's and vistas.

Agreed. I went back the next day for the Captain's puzzle and can confirm that the chest was closed, so it looks like you can do it once each day. May be a nice way to pick up some loot. I'm thinking you may want to get a small group together to do it so you can hopefully get something you can use. I got a Silver Doubloon )2% Magic Find) and a Medium Armor Chest piece (no good for my Mesmer).
