DVD Encrypter wouldn't read disk (errors), Downloaded AnyDVD software and now it works. Why is this?

I just noticed this today (my other programs work now that I have AnyDVD installed). Does AnyDVD effect copy protection on my other programs (Handbrake, DVD Decrypter)?

At $70, I really am not wanting to purchase AnyDVD if I don't have to. Good software but that's a bit steep.

AnyDVD removes the copy protection on the disc, on the fly in the background, making the disc appear unprotected to any app on the PC.

Is there anything else that works similarly that's not as expensive?

There are plenty of this kinds of software that can remove copy protection. You should learn to use Google search. Have you ever heard DVDFab? Wondershare? Leawo? All those brand have such products.

DVD43 is one that works in the background as well, but not 100% sure if x64 compatible - just x86.

Anyone have any luck getting to work in x64? I've never tried it in a x64 environment.
