Elvis Presley SACDs announced by Analogue Productions

Have to sound better than that god awful DVD-A hits collection from back when.

24Karat is a must for me.
Excellent track list.
I dream that someday they will release the tracks from the 1st boxset that came out years ago.
Some brilliant music there.

These have me very excited, depending on which mastering engineer Acoustic Sounds picked for the job.

Might have to grab 24-karat.

There are conflicting reports on the sound quality for these new SACDs. Anyone pick them up yet?

Just so you know where I am coming from I have the 24 karat hits but I do not have any vinyl.

To me, the first 3-4 songs have poorer sound quality than do almost all of those that follow. Song 5 and 10 are out of order but sound really nice. I'd say that the SQ is uneven, but most of them sound pretty good. A few sound downright fantastic in my opinion.

If I take the age, nature, and channel aspect (some songs are in mono) of these into account, I'd score this an 8.5/10. If I compare this to all SACDs I own including Sea Change (9.5) and BIA (9.0), then I'd say I'd rank it around a 6.5-7.0/10. Still a pretty good score overall.

I guess I'd say if you were just looking for ear candy, skip this.... But if you are an Elvis fan, pick it up. I doubt you'll be disappointed, except possibly with the first couple of songs (but then again, this may just be the way they sound on vinyl, I honestly don't know).

I own both SACDs. They both sound very nice to me, but on my modest system, I cannot hear any benefits of the SACD over the DCC versions. Most reviewers agree Heartbreak Hotel on the SACD is sub par. The rest are very good. Do these versions beat Anesini and Steve Hoffman's work? In my opinion, no. There are differences, but they are subtle.

As another poster stated, if you're an Elvis fan you may want to grab these. If you are looking for an audiophile version that will easily beat the 2007 remasters by Anesini or Steve Hoffman's fine work, you will probably be disappointed, Just my 2 cents...

Rather than being obilque, why not make it simple and tell us what you read or where you read it.

Ok, I scoured the internets and really did not find much about these discs and what I did find was pretty positive.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post NormP but it seemed to cast a negative impression of these SACDs.
Am I incorrect?
