Hey , so im using the surround back off of a denon 2113 for my zone 2. Off of the zone 2 im going into a Niles VCS Hub 8. I have 5 pairs coming off of it all going to volume controls throughout the house. 5 different rooms with one pair to each volume control. So here is the question I have 5 pairs of speakers, 5 volume controls, all 8ohm speakers. Do I set the volume control to 1x 2x 4x 8x ? The denon can go as low as 4ohms and as high as 16ohms. Obviously I would like to stay as close to 8 as possible.

If memory serves me five 8 ohm speakers in parallel is 1.6 ohms.

The x4 setting would yield 1.6 x 4 = 6.4

The x8 setting would yield 1.6 x 8 = 12.8

At least this is what I remember but its late and I'm tired.

Which is still 5 speakers per channel... The x4 setting is the closest to your setup (5 vs. 4).
