Plasma To LED

I have a budget of just over 2000, I will be buying my TV from RC Willy or Magnolia (Best Buy).

I would like the biggest TV I can afford without sacrificing quality and what my stand can hold.
My current stand can handle a 60" display
I have a well lit that can also be blacked out.
I will be about 10' from the TV
I watch allot of TV, movies and sports
3D is not important but is nice to have (just in case)
My current plasma is a 42" Panny that is 2 years old.
I have no brand preference but have seen Samsung's and have like them.
I will be moving to Las Vegas is why no more plasma, don't need a hot running TV.
HD source is BR and Direct TV

many don't check the forums on the weekend... you could consider LED, but you'll potentially have to deal with issues with the technology like flashlighting/clouding, DSE and SOE. The "heater" issue with plasmas is overblown. a properly calibrated plasma will produce more heat than an equivalent size LED, but it's probably less head than a DVR or AVR.

unless your panny is broken, or produces unacceptable picture, why not stay with it?
