Crazy accident and my LCD was struck, is it terminal?

So last night I put a book on the top shelf of my built in and the shelf slides off its brackets. Book comes down, as does a speaker. Speaker, attached to wire, becomes a pendulum and swings down into my 55 inch tv. It looked fine, with no crack or search to the case, but now when I turn it on there are lines across the side and bottom as shown in the attached pics. I guess the inner screen cracked. Any idea of this can be fixed for a reasonable amount or if I have to replace it?

I would say you're going to have to pay to get it fixed if it can be fixed. May be cheaper to buy a new TV. Use this as a learning moment. Never put anything over the top of your TV.

You're hosed..a new panel with installation will cost more than a new tv..

+1 Toss it. (Though, you could remove the back cover and re-seat all the connectors and try that on the chance one became dislodged.)

Lesson; don't place anything above a TV. Almost as bad as mounting a TV above a fireplace.
