bi/di or directional surround when theater seating is on back wall

I'm not looking for you to explain yourself in detail because I know there are many similar threads out there. I just want to get a feel from the group what they would/or have done in my situation. I'm not unique here.

13x13 room
Sofa on back wall
Can not mount surround on the side wall (doors, windows, etc)
Can not move sofa up (100" screen)

Question: Do I suck it up and use stands with direction speakers or buy some bipoles (Polk Fxi's are my leading choice now) and mount them on the back wall 10ft apart and a few feet above my head?

Unfortunately I'm in a spot where I can't "test" them prior to purchasing.

Bipoles on the rear wall. That's what I'm using and I'm very happy with it.

I have Polk Fxi 6's switched to bipole about 3 feet above my head and slightly behind me ,mounted on the wall... No complaints from me.

I'd mount above the door/window at the side, as speakers behind you are the least effective choice. But no matter what you do, if you're head's near a wall the sound quality will be bad-to-horrible.

Personally I would do something like this: http://gr-research.com/av-1rs.aspx (Note: This is a kit, so you would need to build or contact someone to build the enclosure)

Chances are though, stands would be your best choice. I am not a fan of dipoles whatsoever, and bipoles I recommend when mounted to the side with some room behind the listener.

Also, just a suggestion, but I would pull the couch out from the backwall at least a foot if you can do so. Being so close to the walls is never a good option, especially when concerning low frequency content...
