Mitsubishi WD 82842 - What 3d glasses??

Hello,

I recently purchased a Mitsibushi WD 82842 3d DLP tv. I am having trouble getting the 3d function to work. I am using a PS3 with the latest firmware on the PS3. I am playing the 3d blu ray John Carter DVD. I have went through the PS3 display setup and set it to match my TV. I have the 3d settings on the TV set to automatic for the 3d source and and standard for the glasses. The display on the TV looks like it is in 3d and you are not wearing any glasses. However, when I put on the glasses and turn them on, it does not clear up the screen. The screen is still blurry.

I am using the 3DG-X103 glasses. It was my understanding that my TV has an internal emitter, so I do not have an external 3d emitter.

Do I have the wrong glasses?

After reading through the specs on the TV, it says:

For 842 Series: Glasses compatible with the TV’s
internal Bluetooth® RF emitters are:
-- Refer to the company website for the recommended
3D glasses.

And the company web site does not list any recommended 3d glasses for the 842 series.

So.....I am thinking the 3DG-X103 are IR and that is why they are not linking up to my TV, because it is RF??

I am brand new to the 3d world and did not buy this TV for that purpose, but figured since it had it I would like to set it up for the kids.

Any help and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You did figure out the problem, your TV sends RF (radio frequency) signals to sync the glasses, however your glasses are not RF, they are IR (infrared light) compatible.

You have options.
1. Get Bluetooth RF glasses (Samsung, Panasonic, Xpand X-104) (Full HD 3D Glasses). They are compatible with the TV's RF signals.
2. Turn off the TV's internal emitter and get the Xpand 3DG-EX103. The model with the "E" in the middle indicates the external IR emitter is included. Plug the external IR emitter in to the back of the TV and setup the emitter to send to the seating of the room. The glasses you have now are compatible and you will have a 2nd pair as well.
3. Get DLP Link glasses - all of them are compatible, just turn on the DLP Link emitter in the TV 3D Menu.
4. Get another brand of glasses and matching emitter. Just make sure the emitter is compatible with the VESA standard connector on the back of the TV.

Mitsubishi is about the only company that has this large a variety of options for 3D glasses.
