valued opinions

I have narrowed down to a few key choices in a new tv purchase. Without reading countless threads the Hx850 55" from sony and either Samsung es7500 or 8000 in 60" respectively. I'm leaning towards the sammys but is the 8000 worth a fee dollars more. Picture quality is my main concern , the smart tv frills are really useless to me I would prefer the 60" so please voice opinions to ease my decision.

always go with the bigger set!
how far will you be sitting from the TV?

I would recommend the HX850 in terms of both picture quality and features...it give an amazing value for its price. However, if you aren't interested in extra features, the 8000 should be effective enough to warrant a purchase. Be sure to compare the prices in terms of what you're looking for in the sets.

Seating is about 10' away from entertainment unit. This tv will be replacing a 8-9 yr old 52" Mitsubishi dlp so it goes without saying all of these tvs are pleasing to the eye. If not stated already I can accomodate the 60" set, it being not much larger than my current 52". I own an older panny plasmawhich serves bedroom duty but I don't think I want plasma for our main viewing room.

What value in the 8000 from the 7500?

ES7500 has micro dimming "pro", ES8000 has micro dimming "ultimate." I don't think it makes much a real world difference in contrast. ES8K also has the chrome finish and the "U" pedestal.

I am hoping there is not much difference with the PQ between the 8000 and 7500 as I just ordered the 7500 since it is 300 less. TV will be here Thursday so I will soon see, but most info I read said the picture comparable between the two.

Thank you gents, I think I may go with the 8000 as its only 200 more than the 7500 at my retailer. Like I said previously going from a dlp set, the picture looked fabulous in store, even if amaturishly calibrated. Ive read some negatives about them all but I think it just boils down to sometimes you purchase the lemon off the lot and hope the manufacturer stands behind the product.
