HDMI handshake issues with Insignia NS-L55X-10A TV

Hello -

I am having various HDMI handshaking issues with my NS-L55X-10A.

1) Xbox 360 - no audio from Netflix or when playing a DVD
2) DirecTV - video cuts in/out and no audio when using their CINEMA instant PPV
3) Occasional handshaking issues with my Samsung Blu Ray player

It seems there is an issue with my TV handling certain audio signals. Is there anything I can add to my setup to remedy this? Are there sound bars that decode the audio from the source so that the TV does not have to?

IMHO, you may either have a faulty TV or some nasty HDMI cables.

Can you exchange the TV?
What make/type HDMI cables are you using?
How long are the HDMI cables?

TV is out of warranty.

I've tried different HDMI cables with no luck so have ruled that out.

I do believe it is a faulty TV but was hoping there is a cheaper alternative to buying a new TV. The TV works fine on live TV, xbox games, etc...it just seems it can't handle situations where a certain audio signal is being used.

Do you think there is anything I can add to my setup that would resolve this?

I've got an idea that I happened upon when trying to playback a large MKV through my Raspberry Pi. It appears that this model can't handle DTS at all; not only was my Pi freezing trying to self-decode the DTS to PCM for the TV, but the TV kept flickering off the handshake and reestablishing the connection. Changing the audio track to the AC3-included track fixed it, but I'm pretty pissed about this. At least my home theater is also my BDP, or I'd be even more pissed at having only PCM/AC3 passthrough.
