Damn you guys are worse than me! I've been pretty happy with my QUADS so far. Every now and then whenever I start to get these little crazy thoughts about subs, i stop, bump up the bass 12db's and then all is well.

When my new house finally starts getting built, I can start the process of an entirely new setup.... poor Mark will be busy for a week or 2 building subs LOL I can hopefully get somewhere to finally demo a full Danley setup and pick what I'm going to run.

This thread is making me regret my decision to wimp out and not buy 4 FTW 21's myself. At the end of the day I was afraid to let go of the Submersives since they really do it for me when it comes to music. Still, the curiosity of what 4 21" drivers in here would sound like is killing me.....

Yeah, most of us use these in theater rooms so having a wall full of 12"-15" speakers for each of the LCRs along with whatever sub driver the LCRs have would be a huge setup and would also need an AT screen to hide all the cabs. Thats one thing I love about Not's system, his huge mains to help out crossing the 18's at 80 or whatever hz. Wish I had went with the JTR 12s instead of my triple 8s for the same reason although music sounds just fine to me with the 21s matched with the triple 8s. Sure the triples sound good but they dont hit you in the chest. I even thought about putting some 12s or 15s under the triples but there simply wasnt enough space. If were DJing then could take up as much space as one wanted and then the use of mid bass drivers would work but in the home its not that easy. The 21s will perform how ever high you want to run them if localization isnt an issue, sure they are heavy but they will play really well. Maybe I ought to put three of mine on the same channels as the LCRs and see if there is that much noticable difference since my first plan was to have a 21FLH on the L and R channels.

Nice box... You do know that the new RE XXX is nothing like the old XXX before RE was sold, etc. And the king of movent was the Adire Brahma MKII which RE licensed the XBL^2 motor tech from.

I'm about to build a sub based on one of the old Titanium coned TC Sounds 5200 with the 4HP motor. I had PWK design me a box. I'm hoping for mad extention. The sub is my avatar.

I think I'll go sealed with these as the 8 12" drivers I'm going to use as well are difficult to get into low tuned enclosures of sizes suitable to where I can place them.
When I pick up the ply next month, I'll see if I'll do them stained with a baffle textured like Fatshaft's, or textured all over. I'm thinking 120 wide, 60 high and 40-50cm deep as two will fit nicely on the front wall in enclosures of those dimensions.

+1 to that, though my wife is pretty easy going so it wasn't very difficult to establish "ground rules". I'm just not allowed to comment on her purchases. I guess we're in the minority...
