Sony HMZ-T2 Personal 3D Viewer HMD Dedicated Thread - Page 6

@Bravia

how did you manage to get your Denon AH-D510 headphones to work with the T2? Yesterday I tried to get my Beyerdynamic MMX 300 work with the T2 but it was impossible to get the headphones completely over my ears because of the T2's white plastic-frame that gets in the way. I mean the white plastic frame of the T2 ends directly over or next to your ears. How do get your headphones sit tightly on your ears without interfering with the T2? From the looks of it the of the Denon AH-D510 and the Beyerdynamics MMX 300 should be nearly the same size

Lohan, they just fit pretty good. Maybe our head sizes are different. Mine didn't hit the white part though at first I thought they might.

Any news about a US release date for the HMZ-T2?
Contacted a Sony store today here in Canada. The sales manager told me around the 15th of November Canadian Sony stores will be receiving demo models for customers to try out. He said only at that point you could pre order one that would ship January 1st 2013.

Im going to Vegas in November. Im hoping you guys have them already in stock. I want to be able to use the HMZ t2 on my 2 week Christmas holiday. Anybody else hear from Sony on a release date ?

Anyone knows if the Japan version works in Europe (220v)? I remember T1 worked, despite saying 110v on the back of the unit.

I'm thinking buying one from ebay (most of them sold by asian sellers), as EU/US release dates seem to have been pushed to next year, don't know why. I really want to know what Sony's thinking, it's like they really don't want to sell these.

Next year?
I ordered mine on Sony's webshop in Denmark on the first of october and got my T2 in the mail last week.
I've only checked on amazon.de (and uk) and sony.de. Not sure about other regions. In US it doesn't even show for preorder...

T2 is soon in India by next week before major festivities happen [big sale tile for majors like LG,Samsung ,sony in this season]
T2 is very pricey here around usd$1350 [including duties etc] . demo's starting next week for ordering.

I am not sure if i will bite the bait - at this price i do not think there will be many takers as India is going thru tough times with cost of living touching all timer high, inflation high - increased poverty. - who will pay usd$1350 [Indian Rs69.999] for this 'Novelty' device meant for personal use only.

i guess the comfort issue will still be there despite the changes in T2 - price pretty high for a thing still evolving gradually with user's feedback mad.gif

Haven't played much with mine yet. I skipped on HMZ-T1 because i wanted a more mature product.
The T2 seems more comfortable than the T1, but i just tried the T1 for 15 mins in a shopping center in Japan while on vacation.

It is possible for me to get a very sharp image from edge to edge, but i an i bit nearsighted so I have to wear my glasses. That does not seem to be a problem at all, fortunately.

3D is amazing, but i don't have a lot of 3D source material nor care too much for it really.
2D is very good. It's like sitting in the theater, so the illusion works for me. I do seem to make out the pixelstructure every now and then, but i'll have to look for it.

For me the T2 is a very nice substitute for my beloved CRT projector that i had to sell when we rearranged the apartment and didnt have room for it. I don't know if i will use it much, but when i get the movie itch, the T2 will be there in the drawer to scratch.

Hey guys, some good news. We have designed some new cushion pads for the HMZ T-2 biggrin.gif
Since it is different from the HMZ T-1, the original pads we made won't fit.
Of course these pads are just as high quality as our previous ones, if not a bit better!
Read below for more info!

Made to look like the belong on the HMZ

Same great quality and comfort

Slick looking pads Bravia. Also your HMZ-T2 deal looks nice, but ill wait for the official Aussie price first.

SONY's people really need to get in touch with your people.

Thanks, my people are just me and my wife haha!

Do you know if it works at 220V (EU)? The T1 did, but i don't know if it's the same with T2.
Pretty sure it will, seems they are all exactly the same worldwide so work with any voltage.
An unlikely question, but is it possible to type on a keyboard with one of these strapped to your face. Thxs.
Sure is, I am doing it now LOL! cool.gif
The new HMZ looks like it could mean I have to start with the whole 3D thing smile.gif
They fixed all the things I didn't like and it looks like they have upgraded the splitter box (seems to be the reason for the higher price)?
Lol, It's fun to see people discussing the relative size of the screen. I guess it differs so much as people sit on different distances from the TV, Something that isn't possible with an headset.
I'm curious how it will compare with the 70" Projector TV. Still have two weeks to wait until it hits the stores in NLD price is 1000 Euros. Funny as usually they market it for 999 or something.
I'm not too much bothered with the whole 720p instead of 1080p, as 3D is only possible in 720p anyway, and if I want to watch in 2D 1080p I can still use my TV.
argl, still two weeks to wait!

The percieved size of the "screen" depends on the distance between the two displays and the distance between your eyes. The screen has a real and absolute size, but people percieve it differently because they have different distance between their eyes.

3D is possible in 1080p.
@bravia3D Can we get the black straps with a white or silver 3D logo? (would prefer silver)

I would love to purchase the T2 you have with the that kind of strap, if I had the cash handy....
T2 to start selling after 15th Nov'12 here in India
i am still in two minds whether to purchase or NOT !

Since the mounting case / helmet is the same as T1 [with slightly reduced weight] , how this is going to be more comfortable given the feedback of T1 as the most uncomfortable mounting case / helmet ever designed.

i think i'd skip unless they design better mounting case / helmet and raise resolution to 1080p which means going back to drawing board so i guess it will be T3 or T4 for me mad.gif

anyway i will get the demo first to rethink!
TreeDee, we sure could. Get some cash ready! I have had a few interested so far. biggrin.gif I'll add silver to my site as an option right now.

ancjob, it's smaller than the T1 by a bit and feels much lighter.

Nice, i was worried earlier that it will be delayed.

Anyone knows if you can order it from Sony's JP store? Do they ship to EU and US?
I doubt Sony JP would ship outside of Japan. They are usually very picky about it and claim it won't work outside the country.. Though it will work just fine!

I heard on the news here that due to the US economy the HMZ-T2 may not even be sold there.

At the moment I have 2 in stock sitting next to me.

Yes and no (for me), while it is possible with the new 1.4a standard it doesn't mean my hardware suddenly jumps to 1.4a. Also our source (movies & games from blu-ray) is of course limited to 24hz on 1080p (standard). While 720p has 60hz. And 60hz is about the lowest you could go when playing 3D content as you really notice the low frame-rate if you see more depth.
That is why I'm so interrested in the new T2 as it seems they changed the hardware on the switchbox. All the reviews I have seen so far only comment on the glasses being 90grams lighter, which is alot seeing it now is 330g. But i'm actually more interrested to see if the switchbox can now put extra frames between the sources so it has higher framerate than the 60 of the T1. I did hear they have an new option specially for gaming, but not much info on what it does frown.gif

Anyone knows when it will be available on amazon.de?
