Sony HMZ-T2 Personal 3D Viewer HMD Dedicated Thread - Page 26

great work Bravia mate.
1 question regarding your light blocker product for the T2. It mentions having some padding/cushions with it for added comfort, so would the product by itself be a big step up in comfort from the T2' original setup? or will I require both the light blocker kit with the comfort pad kit for ultimate viewing pleasures...
cheers
I wonder if the optics on the t1 and t2 are interchangeable. I love the t1 but the blurry corners get tiring.
shono, the light blocker comes with a forehead pad for a little help but you would need the cushion pads for maximum comfort. They really do help much and let you view longer times when used correctly.

Btw, did you tried different headphones with it? Full headphones...

ps: i kept a close eye on CES2013 and no, Sony didn't said anything about a new HMZ version. My guess is, if they have something, they will announce it at E3, along with the new PS4 console.

Just remember to give it a chance and just play around with the way it fits. I remember trying it on at Sony Center and I didn't get a good fit at all. I had to hold the thing to be in its sweet spot.

I haven't tried any other headphones yet, but the in-ear headphones that comes with it, is quite comfy and the sound is good. I got Ultimate Ears TF10, Beyer DT770, AKG Q701, that I can try. But I am satisfied with the sound coming out of that bundle headphones.

Yeah I'm hoping Sony does a new line of Virtual Reality HMD for gaming, that can rival Occulus Rift for PS4. Sony makes lenses and OLED, I'm sure they could make a gaming HMD. Is not that hard to do. Don't get me wrong HMZ-T2 is great for gaming, but full 180 degrees panoramic view HMD is what is really needed.
If you have time, i'd love to hear your opinion when using the TF10 with the HMZ, as i'm curious of how much of a difference would make a more expensive pair of in-ear headphones, in terms of soundstage and movie theater like impression. Also, what version of DT770 do you have, impedance wise? I'm curious if the HMZ T2's amplification is good enough for such headphones.

Thanks!

Has anyone with focus problems been able to fix it on the T2? Comfort is way better than the T1 but the focus issue is still present and frustrating
post #757 of 1012
Never have focus issues on mine, looks great with a full screen and bright colors.

By the way, OLED was very popular at CES. OLED TV's look amazing, but we already own OLED with the HMZ and didn't even have to pay so much for such amazing clear quality.

I see light refraction if there is high contrast white/black on the edge of the screen, but generally it is pin point precise edge to edge. Just been playing skyrim on them and it is awesome! can't wait for the next Playstation/Xbox to try on these bad boys on.

P.S. Dredd 3D looks immense! only £14 at Morrison's!

I ordered your beautiful Sony HMZ-T2 Comfort 3 Cushion Pads. Can the PS3 Move be used for head tracking on the Sony 3D Viewer HMZ-2 ?
Thank you, not sure of that I have never used the Move. But if it works on the TV it should work on the HMZ.

HMZ-T2 forehead piece can't be removed.
I have a Hmz t 1. :-) Is there a video on youtube so i can see have it is done smile.gif

I am returning my T2. While the comfort is better than the T1, the focus is still not right for my head. I think I'm unlucky. If anyone wants it at discount check out my sale thread and PM me, I'd prefer to sell here than ship it all the way back to seller overseas.
On the HMZ-T1 to remove it all you have to do is kind of pull up and out on the forehead piece, it takes a little force but should pop right off.

Thanks...:-)

I just got my T2 yesterday. However, I noticed the edges of the display are cut in for a few pixels. e.g. when it's connected to a PC, half of the task bar is cut off, the min/max button disappear. It's similar when I play BO2 on Xbox 360 using the T2. It seems the display just doesn't show the entire 720p images, even though it is recognized as a 720p display. Is there a setting that I can change to make it normal? Thanks.

My HMZ-T2 arrived today from JP and only had time to unpack. I was surprised by the weight of the headpiece, i expected to be lighter.

Anyway, i've tested the fit on my head, without turning it on (i'll try this later, i hope it doesn't burst into flames and does indeed have an universal voltage PSU inside the main unit ->mine is JP and i'm using it in EU). Right now i'm worried about the fit on my head. Tried it with the back straps at max position (i have a large head) and with the forehead pad at the lowest position (to the front). The problem is i can't get it to touch my nose, the whole HMD is suspended in air by the large forehead pad. If i try to push it more, it finally touches my nose, barely, but then the whole HMZ is too front angled (so much that the top back plastic strap is almost in air). I guess this is not really normal, anyone else had this problem? Basically the forehead pad is too thick for my head and i can't adjust it further. If this is the case, i'm not too worried, as i see that the rubber pad can be removed (it is glued on the plastic support) and maybe i can put something thinner in its place.

It's not meant to touch your nose. Picture will be blurry if it did. The thing is not meant to be worn like a glasses or goggles. The weight meant to be distributed between the rear straps and forehead pad. Not on your nose.
I thought it was there to add a little support for the weight placed on the forehead. Strange design.

Thank you. I unchecked the overscan option and it's fixed.

You only talk about changing the pad but you might not have realised that the whole forehead piece moves backwards and forwards and is locked into place with a slider that sits behind it.
