Saving Hope-NBC

Besides myself, does anybody else notice that the color balance/colorimetry of different scenes seems to be "off"? I've quite often seen things that are truly supposed to be black have a blueish/black component. Many times, flesh tones look quite undersaturated. IMO, it appears that (whoever) is in post-production isn't quite doing their job in color correction or just does not have an "eye" for it. Before you ask--yes, my tv is calibrated. Other shows, commercials etc. look fine. And, I've worked in tv production for well over 35 years. Aside from the color balance issue (and the following is an artistic judgement), would they please get rid of all the lens flares they deliberately have in this show? I think they look idiotic and are distracting. As to the actual story line, I quite enjoy it and think the acting is well done. Any comments?

I would have more respect for the lens flaring if it was used to actually indicate something, such as the camera's perspective, e.g. if the lens flares were used when we're seeing things from Charlie's point of view but not when we're seeing things from the perspective of the "normal" characters.

I've been enjoying the show, wondering where they are going with the plot. It does not have the feel of a limited run series, they are fleshing out the characters nicely. I hope they don't have Charlie wandering around in a coma for years. Odds are US viewers will never know, just like most here have no idea that The Listener is now in it's third season.

As to the other points, I've gotten used to the lens flare, it was annoying at first though.

It's a pity that the show is largely wasting the abilities of Michael Shanks, but hopefully he'll wake up at some point and actually get to do more than talk to dead people in season 2.

I haven't noticed the color balance so much as the very irritating lens flares. Not so much that it stops me from watching it but I wish they'd cut it out none the less.

I am interested in the show,it is a pity that NBC will cut some programs, and I hope that the programs what I love will keep on!
I hope they keep this one - I love Shanks and wish they would bring him out of the coma already!

The entire show revolves around the conversations he has with people near death, so he won't wake up until the final episode, unless CTV decides to do another 180 like they did with The Listener by firing all the writers and changing the entire show. I wonder if NBC will air the second season next year.

I almost missed the day and time change for the final two episodes this season -- moved to Saturday, 9/8 and 9/15 at 8 pm.

Thanks for the heads-up .... too good to miss!

I didn't see this notice either. Thanks for the info.

Everything's changing at the last minute. Thanks for the heads-up.

Well, maybe the head's up is just to stay alert, and post if you find something more.  Things are still changing, and I can't tell what's going on.

I had read about the day/time change on Wiki, when I was looking to see if there were still more episodes this season.  When I looked yesterday, the Saturday listings showed up both in TVGuide online and on my CM7000Pal (TVGOS).   But I saw nothing about Saturday airings on either NBC.com or my local NBC online schedule.  That doesn't necessarily mean anything, since when there's a difference, it's nearly always TVGuide that has it right.  But today TVGuide has dropped the Saturday Saving Hope listing.  I guess the best we can do is just stay on the lookout for those last two episodes.  It would not surprise me if the 'repeats' scheduled in the Saturday time slots get dropped at the last moment, and we get our Saving Hope no matter what the schedule says.

I just checked listings for my area (central Indiana) and it says the time for the airing is Saturday at 9:00 P.M--not 8:00.

Meanwhile, TitanTV doesn't even know the episodes exist. Yet another Canadian show gets stellar support from NBC. rolleyes.gif

I re-checked Wiki and it's changed now, too -- it used to say the episodes would play on 9/8 and 9/15, now it says both episodes will play Saturday 9/15, 8-10pm.  I found a Saving Hope forum on NBC.com that shows both episodes on Saturday 9/8, 8-10.    I'm going to record all the likely possibilities.

I don't think anyone knows what's happening, including NBC. Deadline.com is reporting that the episodes won't air at all and will only be available online.

That would be bad luck for me, with slow DSL that can't handle even youtube.  When they announced they were doing that with the Cape, I stopped watching.

There are other ways to get these shows without streaming. Even stuff posted to YouTube can be downloaded for playing on your computer.

TV Guide Online is now showing the Saturday schedules for 9/8 and 9/15 WITHOUT Saving Hope. So looks like we have to get the last two episodes online.
One kind of has to wonder why they do this. It's not like viewers are going to suddenly flock to NBC to see whatever filler they put in its place, but all the people who wanted to watch Saving Hope will be annoyed when they tune in and find it isn't airing, especially since NBC gave them no warning after the previous episode. NBC is getting adept at alienating its loyal viewers while simultaneously failing to attract new ones.

Or move to Canada rolleyes.gif

Interesting turn. I'd suggest watching even online.

BTW, you don't need to move to Canada to see it....

I just went to NBC's main site. Guess what? The latest episode aired (according to them) LAST NIGHT!! None of my listings had shown that it was going to be aired. So, I missed it. The title of this episode is "Ride Hard or Go Home". WHAT IS WITH THESE CORPORATE DUMMIES? Don't they want an audience? If you want to watch it online, here's the link.

Somebody had better be kicking some A$$ in the programming department. Straighten up and fly right or lose your job. I have no idea when the season finale is to be aired.

This is just out and out incompetence.

That would be frustrating, but I suspect it did not actually air, and what shows in the 'aired date' field is the release date for online viewing --  9/7 and 9/14, after it airs in Canada.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone out there seen the season ending?

According to NBC's site, it aired last night. Sure couldn't see it here where I am. The episode is "Pink Clouds". Here's the link.

I'll be watching on my computer tonight.

Tribune originally said it would air tonight(Pink Clouds, Sat 9/15) but now says it won't be on and no coming episodes confused.gif
