Not all high efficiency speakers will outdo other speakers for HT. it depends on the room size and the volume. Not everyone wants 105dB volume and not everyone has a large room.
The OP's room is only 11' x 16'. Kind of small. Even the small $99 NHT SuperZero bookshelf speakers can play extremely loud in this room when paired with a great sub.
The most important component IMO is the subwoofer.
I very highly recommend getting the Funk 18.0 unpowered sub, which is $1695 for Canadians. Add a Crown XLS1000 for $300 or use an existing amp if you have.
Just get some bookshelf speakers from KEF, Revel, B&W, Focal, Dynaudio, NHT, Ascend, CHT, etc, and pair them with a Funk 18.0.Edited by AcuDefTechGuy - 9/13/12 at 6:27am
