Doing lot's of searching and found nothing either. I'm shocked as well. I figured something would be out there...

Sorry Epson has no deals on these in fact they can't keep them in stock at the moment. Dealers have to avertise for certain price. Just ask around there are some deals to be had.

Just watched Kung Fu Panda 2 and Happy Feet 2 in 3D last night with family. Had ghosting on Happy Feet 2 and Kung Fu Panda 2 no problems with ghosting.

Love the Darbee can't say enough good thing with the 6020. Almost everyone that has seen it on our 6020 has bought one. In fact I am so confident about the results I offer to pay return shipping if people are unhappy, not one has come back to date. Go ahead order one you can't go wrong.

Just ordered one today and hope to get it next week and test it out. Thanks Mike from AVS AV Science.

Couple of questions. I have an epson 8500ub and had a acoustic screen, but had to take it down becuase the moire was too much to deal with. I assume that the epsons large screen door effect is what is causing it. I did not rotate the material because it was before I learned about the effect. Are there projectors that can be used with the acoustic 1080 material without having to rotate it? Does the new epson have a better fill rate than the old 8500ub and maybe work with it? Would the Darbee thing fix this? I would definitely want a new projector that does 3d well and can game on it. I would really like to have my large screen back. Would the panasonic fix this with its smoothscreen? Any ideas on how to fix this would helpful. Oh and Benq w7000 is out. The strain of the rainbows caused me to feel sick.

I know several members with the HW50 and acoustic screens that don't experience the moire issue you were seeing. it's interested because while I can't see it on my HP screen with the 5020, my camera can. I can't take any full screenshots from seating distance without seeing the obvious signs of moire. the pixel fill is still quite wide on the 5020, not sure if this will change vs. your 8500.

I don't think it would happen with the panasonic due to the smoothscreen.

Picked up my 6020 last night. All I need now is the screen and I'll have everything I need. Should have the home theater all ready to go in about a week or so. A two year work in progress finally finished!

Please let us know what you think of the black levels in 3D with the DI on and how that compares to having the DI off.

Has anyone tried playing Crysis 2 in stereoscopic 3D from a PS3 on the Epsons?

The PS3 outputs 720/60p frame-packed 3D (not SBS), and the Sony HW50ES just can't handle it. The ghosting is so bad on any glasses brightness setting as to be completely unplayable.

I'd be very curious if the supposed overdrive technology with Epson panels helps the panels respond fast enough for 60p framepacked 3D (which requires 120Hz L/R switching, AFAIK).

P.S. I know the Panasonics using the Epson panels use 480Hz overdrive technology; I'm assuming so do the Epson units; please correct me if I'm wrong.

Got my 6020 last week.. Upgraded from Epson 6500UB. It's been great so far. 3d is pretty cool but can't take a lot of it. Watched Brave with the Family and thought the brightness, etc was great.

Why is it not possible to activate the FI in 3d? Will Epson enable this feature in the future?
I can confirm that the anamorph modus is selectable in 3d! (6020).

All i can say is that I tried the Cinema mode, in eco, with auto IRIS set to fast. Screen was ~100" 'diamond' (?) which seemed a gray reflective, gain was 1.4. Room was about 90% dark, with only minor ambient light coming in through the closed door.
Tested a few bluray movies including Fifth Element.
My observations:
-Black levels are outstanding. I tried hand puppets over several 'black' portions of the screen (including the 'black bars' top/bottom of 2.23:1 content, and I could not see the hand puppets. I was really trying. Really impressive.
-Color and saturation seemed very nice for an uncalibrated projector, out of the box.
What I did not like:
-Frame Interpolation (FI) even at the lowest level was too much for me. Soap opera effect. medium and High FI got slightly worse. I was hoping for a low FI level that wasn't so aggressive, to be used with 24hz movie content. I did like the FI applied to a music concert though.
-Sharpness seemed subpar. Im comparing to my Z2000 projected onto a painted wall. Maybe the screen they had at this Magnolia room was at fault. The focus seemed right, because I could see the pixel structure up close. Sharpness setting was set at zero (centered on the scale), and the RC (or whatever Epson calls it) was set to OFF. I tried this enhancement and noticed sharpness improvements, quite subtle really, nothing too aggressive.
Hope this helps.

So my friend does this projector makes soap opera effect even with low setting? i hate soap opera effect, if this model has it i wouldnt buy it

We all need to call or email Epson Customer Support and ask about doing an update via FW that enables CFI and SR in 3D.

Any first hand experience yet with first person shooters and the 6020?

My son played Halo 4 and he didn't like it all on my 5020.

It would be interesting why Epson disabled CFI and SR in 3d.

Was this because of lag specifically, or something else? Did he adjust the 5020 to minimize lag?

Is 6020 really better as projector? I know you get extra year of warranty, spare lamp and mount plus black finish. I could not find any good reviews on 6020. Thanks.
I am going to answer this question myself. After reading few posts about 3D ghosting issues, it is obvious after about 1500 to 1800 hours it is an issue. So it is better if you change your even though it is good for 4000 hours. So it is better to go for 6020, as it comes with spare bulb. Any thoughts?
I think it was about lag time with the game. Will check again to see what is going on with 5020 this week.

Try a PM to a few of the dealers who frequent this board and ask for their best price on the 6020, It certainly made my decision easier. I was quite surprised how close I was able to get to the MSRP of the 5020.

I doubt the processor in the x020 has the horsepower to do CFI in 3D. My guess is that this can't be fixed in FW even if Epson wanted to do it.

How were you able to select Anamorphic mode in 3D, I havn't played around much with 3D yet but when I watched I-Robot 3D the other night I noticed that the option was greyed out.
This is strange - did you tried the same with other movies? But I think the movie can't be the reason...
Maybe you can try to activate the modus before you start watching a 3d movie?

I haven't played a 3D movie yet but I was browsing through the menus the other night and I don't recall that option being greyed out. I agree with UdoG that it's unlikely that that particular title is at fault. I'll check the menu again and report back latter.

My mistake, sitting here watching a few minutes of Titanic 3D with anamorphic on, I was able to select Anamorphic mode without any issues. That movies has an amazing depth of field considering it was shot in 2D. Perhaps it was greyed out when I had it connected to my PowerBook running XBMC, It was connected with a dvi-> hdmi adapter.

I've been using the 5020UBE since 3 weeks now after I set it up. I need some inputs for two issues:

1. I haven't mounted it from the ceiling but installed a Sanus heavy duty glass wall mount (tempered glass that can carry 50 lbs) behind the wall above the headboard in the master bedroom. I feel uncomfortable sitting underneath the projector; need to secure it further. Looks like there's a Kensington lock port behind the projector. So, on the advice of a friend, I went to Best Buy and bought a laptop/projector locking mechanism that should be usable with the projector. Problem is: the cable is 6 ft long and I only need 1 ft to go from the projector to the wall on which I plan to fix a base plate and hook it up to the projector; so that the projector doesn't fall down if the wall mount glass shelving gets stressed out....I'm thinking of going to Home Depot or Lowe's to buy some type of a heavy duty clamp to bundle up the extra steel cable in a circular loop and tie it up using the clamp. I haven't been able to find any lock-and-cable mechanism with just 1 foot in length. Any one has any better ideas?

2. Since the past few days, I've noticed that there's some type of a noise coming from the projector (off and on) - it bothers me during the quiet scenes of a movie for instance. I presume this is a normal thing. I read under "Projector Reviews.com" that some people put a piece of cardboard or foam between the projector and mount or table top and this helped cut out the "rumbling sound". Not sure whether it is the same "rumbly sound" I'm hearing or whether it is a noise of the fan or something else. It sounds like rumbly but I just don't see how putting foam between the projector and the shelf mount would help the issue. Any one got any tips for me?
