Hey Guys,
Both of these systems are on sale, need help choosing. I heard the SM55 and liked the bass response and depth of sound field. I have not heard the Klipsch Gallery 28s but LOVE the slim design. Help me choose!! I live in an apartment (top floor) so room retelling system with Towers and 2 subs would have to wait till later. I would like to find a compact set of bookshelf/slim speakers which isn't completely lacking in bass region but at the same time is slim (I know this is hard to do) Here are the set ups I threw together, let me know which one I should go with and if you have any experience with these or other compact speakers, also please note that speakers must pass the SO test so slimness is def a factor:
Option 1:
3 - Klipsch Gallery G-28 ($600) Reg ($1500)
2 - Klipsch Gallery G-12 ($160) Reg $400
1 - SVS or HSU subwoofer ($500 - $600)
Total $1300 est
Option 2
2 - DefTech SM 55s ($350) Reg $600
1 - DefTech CLR 2002 ($280) Reg $350
2 - DefTech ProCinema 800s ($280) Reg $499
1 - DefTech SC4000 sub (open box - $500) Reg $800
Total with deliv, $1500
AVR will most likely be a Either Marantz Slim line 7.2 ($650) or Onkyo 709 ($550) - still trying to figure where to place it as neither will fit on my TV stand.
