I think last year was a bit more coherent, and this season has been a righteous mess, but I'm enjoying it. Perhaps next year they'll manage to be even more demented.

It's not really horror, it's camp, but can you even do horror on TV? Really? I remember some truly chilling 'Twilight Zone' and 'Outer Limits' episodes, but they derived their scares and chills from clever, suspenseful storytelling. Maybe the modern reliance on shock and gore has desensitized us. It does seem like truly suspenseful horror on television is part of a quaint by-gone era.
The 'Walking Dead' has some truly horrific scenes but they derive more from character-driven conflicts than all that impressive gore - that stuff is really just part of the background.
