Looking for an Android control solution for everything(lights, media, HA)

Thread Starter
Looking to control everything from a tablet or phone running Android. By everything I mean:

1. Insteon lights(with feedback stating their current state).
2. IP controlled devices when available(such as an HTPC running XBMC).
3. IR devices using an IR blaster(for controlling my cable box, TV, receiver).
4. Controlling audio in multiple zones(perhaps using Sonos).
5. Controlling the different scenes I choose to program(i.e. "I'm Home" scene...turning on appropriate items and lights).

I prefer to stay away from Control4 as I like to DIY. Is my only hope to have different apps doing separate things? I've come across iRule, but that seems more for only IR based items. OpenRemote is almost exactly what I need(I think), but it doesn't seem to support Insteon...only X10.

Is there ONE app that can control Insteon getting feedback, my IR devices, my Sonos(and display currently playing artist), and my XBMC? Do I need to purchase more hardware other than perhaps an IR blaster(like some type of controller)? I'll have an UnRaid NAS server running if that helps by using it for software to run on it.

Insteon and X-10 are compatible. X-10 is the Original...

X10 -- Advantages

It is estimated that X10 compatible products can be found in over 10 million American homes. This is because it has so many advantages over other types of remote control products and systems:

Inexpensive
No new wiring is required -- perfect for retrofit
Simple to install
100's of compatible products
Control up to 256 lights and appliances
Time proven -- it has been around for over 30 years

INSTEON — Ultimate Reliability

INSTEON is a robust, redundant dual-band mesh network that combines wireless radio frequency (RF) with the home's existing electrical wiring. INSTEON is less susceptible than other single-band networks to the kind of interference and noise commonly encountered within the home. INSTEON confirms every message to ensure that messages are received error-free, and it automatically retransmits corrupted messages. Because every INSTEON device acts as a two-way repeater, the INSTEON Network becomes stronger and more reliable as it grows. INSTEON-enabled devices will work with legacy X10 products.

Might want to take a look at the Touchsquid Pro software.

I am not sure they have IP stuff yet, but they are great for working with users that are trying to add features.

touchsquid doesn't do IP, to control xbmc he would have to use IR signals into an IR receiver box plugged into a usb port on his pc.
