Suffice it to say my TV has been completely problem free so far at least. I'm a regular on these forums and have not encountered anyone here who has the same problem you do so I'm sorry I don't have anything more encouraging to tell you. I know I would definitely be worried about this problem you're having though. Hopefully getting an idea of where the sound originates from will give some of the more knowledgable types here an idea of what it could be.

Yes, it was the very same deal! =D
Just turned the T.V on after not using it for a weeks and still heard the noise. Not really knowing how a DLP works here, but best I can tell the noise is produced when the screen first turns on. So when the screen goes from full black (off) to light black (on). I.E when the bulb/projector (whatever) first turns on and produces light on the T.V Screen. Does that help?
And yes, I haven't noticed any other issues other then this odd noise.
