Here is an interesting article on why not to buy 4K televisons
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-33199_7-57366319-221/why-4k-tvs-are-stupid/

I am an electronic junky LOL, I will buy the latest and best stuff if i have the $$$$ and always top model, so what does everyone thnk think about 4K vs 2k TV's is there really a difference from OLED 1080P vs 4K?? that will be the next question, if an 80 inch OLED tv comes out next year would you buy that or the 4k....etc.....

Lets share all ideas and info please, i am sure many people are asking the same thing....I want a 4K tv:D

The 8 month old article is all wet IMHO.
Apple has demonstrated with it's retina displays that you don't want to be able to see every pixel to get the best PQ. Your eyes will ignore the overlap and insures that you get the best detail available from the data. The early advertising of the 4K displays coming this fall contains references to how a very sophisticated upscaling algorithims make an image upscaled to 4K look a lot better then the same image in it its native resolution on the same size screen.
As soon as there are some good reviews written by other then jouralists that truly evaluate the the 4K units that come this fall I beleive that we will when content upscaled to 4k look its best and when it does not help much.

If you had an Ipad 3 as I do, and watched full HD movies on them. You would know why YOU can not wait to own a 4k set.

You can't compare an ipad to a TV. Two completely different viewing distances.

Flatout incorrect. 4k makes a big difference. There is no sense in trying to theory craft why it doesnt. It just flatout does.

You guys need to get out more. There have been threads for this down in the flat pannel forum that date as far back as Jan. 20011. They have already argued it to death, even talk of how the human eye works in degree of angle and such. But, even so, I look forward to 4K and even 8K. I just hope I ain't one who ends up with obsolete devices or lack of compatability as new standards come out.

Really at teh very least 4k allows for proper passive 3d. and thats MORE than enough reason for 4k.

Good reading comprehension. I never said 4K didn't make a difference (though my opinion on that is all over the 4K thread). I said the ipads viewing distance (close to you face) is different from a TV (more than 5 feet away). You shouldn't compare the two. Again, two completely different viewing distances.

And size.

If your correct an I am not as you so imply. How come every single person that has seen the new sony 84 inch is absolutely just as blown away by the set from more than several feet away? Just as much so as everyone who has ever seen an Ipad retina screen.

Cant wait to see this.

Also of note. It wasnt so much my comprehension as you insult. It was more that my sentence was a little less complete than I guess it needed to be.

Flatout incorrect. 4k makes a big difference no matter the viewing distance. There is no sense in trying to theory craft why it doesnt. It just flatout does.

This just about proves my point. Dont theorycraft.

AT cedia sharp unvailed a 94inch tv but no information was given, this has to be an improved version or thei elite 94 inch i'm asuming here. BUt 4k cant afford for a long time to come so i willkeep drooling at that technology but lke many have said on here it will be OLED 4K will be amazing.

Then we might have the look out your window look people are wanting OLED 4K I wonder how far off we are on that
