So Is Multichannel Inputs (7.1 From PC) A Thing Of The Past

Been trying to find an A/V Receiver that still provide the multichannel input from a PC option, but it looks like I'm SOL. Shame, the optical on my sound card only outputs stereo.

You could get a better sound card...

Or buy a receiver that is a couple of years old like the Denon 890/2310. They have 7.1 analog inputs.

There are new receivers with 7.1 analog inputs but will cost you upwards of $500-600.

Let me be the first person to welcome you to the 21st century. It this era we now have the new fangled digital tubes that carry visual and sound bits... over something the modern man calls "HDMI".

sorry, I could not resist... I reread the post a few times also thinking I might have missed an ATRAC question too.

Spend $10 and get a video card that has an HDMI port (or get a used PC for $50 to $100 with one) and buy any receiver on the market since they ALL use HDMI these days.
