Fair enough, my only question would be why it would matter? Will she/they not watch it then, or specifically look for an HD movie? tongue.gifbiggrin.gif If that's the case, better upgrade all that you can!

good luck with finding something that works adequately for you.

Bill

This is what I do. I actually have 4 folders under my Videos Share:

Movies HD
Movies SD
Family Movies HD
Family Movies SD

Prolly doesn't give him the "all in one display" option he's looking for.

James

If using a jukebox it should group all these folders as an all in one display
post #1505 of 2288
Ahh, ok. That was my initial thought, but I have mine all in one so I haven't bore witness to how that works...I figured they would be consolidated, per se, but you would still have to select them (folders) individually from the menu or that they would show up differentiated, somehow.

Here's to hoping I have movies to look at after I get home!

thanks

an options for showing HiDEF movies in NMJ is do your own covers use mymovies or something to grab the bluray covers and use them rather then the pulled covers
post #1507 of 2288
When I had a PCH I used YAMJ and it would have an "HD" at the top corner letting me know it was BD.
I believe you need to do something like this to get a Blu-ray cover: The Matrix (1999).bluray.mkv

I was watching Immortals tonight and I got a few loading rings during the movie. I have a 3tb seagate internal drive that is on the compatible HDD list for PCH. The movie is a blu ray. Any thoughts to why it is acting stupid?

Sorry, I sure as hell can't help you- I've been asking the same question for 2 weeks.

My seagate 4TB external works perfectly fine with my WD Live but I also get the occasional hiccups with the 400. Tonight I got about halfway through the wrestler without it before turning it off, so maybe there's light, somewhere, inexplicably, lol.

By the way, I was getting some terrible lip sync issues that I've seen many complaint about on the NMT site since the last f-ware update. But I think I "found" my remedy in switching my output to 1080/24.

By the way, any tips on the video output settings? Seems "auto" is to be avoided, anywhere in the vid settings. (?) What about color space?

Thanks!

James

I set the color space to auto because I was having issues (probably just me) with the lumagen and the PCH. I didn't really try too hard at that either. why is the auto settings to be avoided?

Any chance Immortals is seamless branch?

I believe it is.

Use NMJ ToolBox2 to create a Genre call BD and DVD. Or HD and SD. Then you can search all your HD or SD content and it will only pull up HD or SD. I created a Genre for my 3D content to use this way. But I alo have all my 3D ISOs preceded by "3D" show it makes it easier for me with all my 3D content near the top of my collection.

Can you please explain the seamless branch. Thanks

It's where the movie is made up of multiple smaller M2TS files instead of the entire movie being in a single M2TS.

immortals are not seamless branch, it plays fine in others media players (mede8er ) 2D,3D, ISO or mkv.
Great movie, the masterization was made with IOSONOS technology.

I think I've become "that guy" on this thread, but this time I roll up with a bit of good news...

After my laptop "fixed" my drive, I reconnected it to the 400, updated the library and about 8 minutes later I had all 150 movies were present and assigned data. Every one was correct, too. Just had to change a view covers I didn't agree with. The planet earth series was the only mucked up title and that was really my fault for crap titling.

Couple of files played back buffer free. If this can simply continue to operate like this, I'll be a very happy clam.

Have a great memorial weekend, all!

Good job. I am glad you got it figured out. I have learned from the responses to your posts as well so you have helped a bunch.

seamless branch is where a bdmv or iso file is split into smaller files it does not contain one big m2ts but rather multiple small files ranging from 4 files up to i think some of the disney movies have 54 branches in it.

I have an issue and I can not figure it out for the life of me. I am ripping my dvds to my computer and then sending them to the external HDD on the PCH. I have and internal drive as well and they are both on one jukebox via NMJToolbox2. The only movie I can not get to play is Kill Bill Vol 2. I can get the poster to show up on the jukebox but it will not play the movie through the jukebox. If I select the HDD on the PCH, I can get it to play like that. I tried deleting it from the toolbox2 and entering it back in there as well. I did notice that the files were different when I looked in the folders between Kill Bill Vol1 and Vol2. I highlighted them so that you could see. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Thank you sir!

your kill bill has the wrong path. its showing your company mapped path and not the path from the pch. adjust it to look like killbill 1
post #1524 of 2288
How? I can't seem to find how to do that? Thanks for responding.

Im not a NMJ toolbox user myself But If I were you I would ask in the NMJtool box thread on the NMT forums post asking here http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=56594&pid=616544#pid616544 and you will get a better response.

Might take a little leg work but you could use either separate jukeboxes or custom covers. Outside of that unless she goes to file info when looking at a movie I don't think there is a way to separate them.

Hola, all...I'm back, lol.

Two things:

1. I got some more buffering yesterday by I'm done losing my mind about it...things will get sorted with this thing eventually in that regard or I'll end up with a new player: end of. The hard drive works fine with my laptop and WD Live.

2. Volume. There's no question in my mind the 400 plays back files substantially quieter than disc playback/other devices. I'm actually gonna measure today but last night I played war of the worlds at +3 on my Denon 4311 and it was still "soft" where it's spectacularly loud at "0" on my ps3 and blu ray changer. I looked in my Denon menus and all inputs are identically set to "0". A cursory google finds this to be a very widespread issue with popcorn hour players.

I accidentally unearthed a volume control yday on the 400 (yeah, prolly the "volume" control but I have mine set up on my harmony so it's not quite so obvious as the volume buttons control that of my Denon 4311), but I would really not like to have to do this all the time and I'm concerned about potential clipping from the 400. Can anyone speak to this?

Again, I'm going to measure today but I'd bet it's at least a 6-8db difference, with some movies it's impossible to make out dialog at -10 on the dial!

Oh, and lip sync issues on half the files I play...and the lip sync option doesn't alter it at all.

Finally repalced my BoxeeBox and A400, so far so good. Played a few movies last night and didnt have any issues. I set up NMJ and "merged" my 2 HDDs so now they shows 1 video wall which makes me happy. While I still prefer the Boxee interface and basic jukebox work, I cant complain about the A400 I especially like being able to browse the collection and start a movie from my IPAD.....Im connected via USB for storage, so it cuts out a lot of the issues I guess some have witih NAS......looking forward to playing a few more movies today, hopefully remains flawless.
