from what ive looked in pch forums the moderation has difficult accepting issues by the users, very different from popcorn.de forum, in my understanding the moderation in pch forums is trying to excuse the flaws of this player, blamming the users hardware , blamming the guys that spend 300€ in a device that doesnt do what is supose to do.
the users in avsforums, are very experimented regarding media players, and like me , like you, they tested some of the lastest players around and they are capable to point where the flaws are.
why dont take your pch moderator shirt while you are in avsforums ?
if theres issues they must be pointed, and like other users im interested to buy a second media player, and i have the right to no exactly what it does or dont, if theres a Rant from users about this player i want to understand why...
ps: this is not a personnel attack , just an observation reading your previous posts.
I just received My unit today.
So far today I only actually got to watch about an hour and a half worth of programing, from samba, in both mkv and mp4 format with no stutter, I dont Have a 3d tv so i cant anything 3d related, I setup samba and was able to send a file to internal sata drive at 30MB/s and was stable at 30MB/s dropping to 20MB/s or so for a second, I have not got to try much else today.
So far for me.
Setup worked installed firmware installed NMT apps to both a usb stick and internal drive using the online option
Setup a samba share to my ubuntu server fine, Was able to transfer from ubuntu to A400 at 30MB/s over samba.
Watch revolution mp4 file with zero issues, it was SD and contained AAC audio,
I turned on a 1080p mkv of the nightmare before christmas for my kids and it was either dts or dts-hd dont remember how I ripped that one and Not a single issue streaming it.
I dont run NMJ so cant comment on it, I use everzion with evzap skin and noticed a slow down on the fade out animation on the A400 but rather then fading out and new picture coming in it just stops and loads like a double image still need to investigate that one as I think its with the swf transitions.
As a quick test I just loaded the HD dolby countdown lossless test file that is m2ts it played over samba without issue and truehd sound displayed on my onkyo
Also test the HD-dts master audio sound check 7.1 m2ts and it two played find with dts-hd audio
test some file as aboe that I have muxed inside an mkv container dts-hd again played fine.
Test some of my Anime files, quick test with the AVI files from DB for 07 ghost they played fine but the info displayed the bitrate as 56.76Mbps so just a cosmetic flaw
Tested another Anime release of macross frontier Thora release, it has ASS/SSA subtitles and dts audio, They Displayed fine for the most part, The gap between the lines is a little bigger then I would like and the spacing between words seems a little bigger then I remember also I think it was missing some styling.
If anyone wants me to test a file i will as long as its doable on my setup.Edited by halfelite - 11/27/12 at 3:14am
