Normal dts is fine. Just dts-hd is effected

It's been hit or miss for me whether MKV or BD ISO. I've had BD ISOs/MKVs play completely through with no issue with DTS-HD MA and Dolby True HD and I've had titles start having issues right away and titles not have issues for an hour or so. I haven't messed around too much with the firmware from yesterday, but I watched a movie from a full BD ISO last night that played through around 45 minutes before it started having issues. So I finished watching it on my C200.

I've had enough. If anyone is interested I put mine in classifieds. Good luck to you guys that are sticking with it.

If all your MKV's have DTS only then no. If you MKV's have DTS-MA then there will be audio issues. You can downmix it or if you ripped your movies with a secondary AC3 track then you can use that instead.

Was playing Rudolph ripped to MKV/TrueHD from BD tonight. Stuttered and dropped audio completely within the first few minutes... frown.gif First time I've seen that happen amongst all the christmas shows we've watched lately. Using TV speakers, so set to downmix. I changed audio tracks to the separate DD track in the file. Played fine the rest of the way.

I hear ya. I ended up making the same call and mine's on eBay right now. Mede8er's 600X3D or 1000X3D just work and are stable.

I have patience and believe the A400 will be the premier streamer for this generation...
Yes it's only been a few weeks and I've seen improvements every week. The firmware that came out today really increased my network speeds. Now I'm getting 25MB/s to 27MB/s from the PC to the A400.

And I'm getting 38MB/s to 40MB/s from the A400 to the PC

Is anyone still looking to sell? I'm wanting to buy in the next couple days. PM me

OK, got through about 30 minutes for so of a Blu ray mkv w/ DTS MA. Audio dropouts started about 5 minutes in and kept occurring periodically during the movie.

Well for your sake I hope you are very very very patient. I can't even imagine anyone wanting this pos until they fix it. Let's not even mention the fact that the 300 still has issues from months and months ago...
That being said, my c200 ( with new pico power supply) is still dishing up Blu ray nirvana for me along with my Dune...

What movie was it? I've played some DTS-MA movies completely through without an issue, and I've had some have issues right away. Although typically they will go for 30 or 45 minutes before any issues start. I did watch another movie today(The Rock) that played through without any issues. But it had PCM audio.

Just 2 more big bugs remaining and it should be a decent player. DTS-hD and I have seen a few mentions of True-HD issues i myself have not had one yet to confirm that one. And the issues with subtitles, with the latest firmware release seems everyone is getting stable network speed of around 25-35MB/s The people can start using it to see how it performs.

I would say from launch to now the player has improved 200% with the last couple major issues hopefully getting resolved, I say turn around time January 15th is what im hoping for, at least for the DTS-HD issue to be fixed, this is the fastest we have ever seen PCH and sigma for that matte fix issue. So hopefully they keep at this pace.

I still plan on getting a mede8er to play with it as well after xmas but a little faith restored in PCH with the amount of firmware releases we have been getting for the A400, Yes the A300 seems abandoned yet its still within the schedule of the information they have said, A400 would get the most attention then they would bring A300 NMJ up to same level as a400 which they did pretty fast, then once the A400 level off A300 fixes would come followed by 200 series getting same NMJ as A300/A400.

So that last update said it added airplay. Can anybody confirm that means it can be an airplay target? In other words, you can send music from an idevice/computer with itunes to the Popcorn Hour?

Yeah, new forum firmware sounds to have really stabilized things performance-wise. That's great news. Looks like my unit is not shipping until the 28th.

The DTS-MA/True-HD issue(s) are interesting in that there are still bugs (intel specific) with the Boxee Box when streaming these. At this point, the only thing I'm really gaining with the PCH is hdmi 1.4a (frame packed 3d etc), otherwise both the Boxee Box and the A-400 are relatively similar re playback.

I'm interested in the built in BT app though, I've tried built in downloading apps before (DS212+ for instance) without any luck. I seem to only be able to max out my connection with a decent server with at least a C2D Intel and few gigs of RAM. Does anyone use the built in app regularly and can provide a bit of a review as to it's functionality and performance?

Werner gave some information today sigma gave them a patch for DTS-HD and all the samples he had now work, so not released yet but sounds like the HD bug might be squashed now also

That's great!!!!

I got a bunch of 3D BDs for Christmas so I'm hoping my new TV shows up soon so I can try out the 3D BD ISOs on the A400.

Does anyone have Aline on Blu ray(iso form) they can test on the player? My dune plays fine but there is a part on the movie when they are in a white with a lot of white in it and the white sort of looks like a lot of white dots. Just want to know if the image quality(VXP) helps out any.
what is the time stamp for that part?
This is a forum firmware update today for the A400, on the NMT forum, that is supposed to have the DTS-HD fix. I won't be able to update mine until I get home tonight.

The updates have been coming quickly and each one yielding good improvements.

Hope to update and test out later today if I don't get home from work too late. Tried watching Looper a few days ago but the audio drops were too annoying, hopefully the DTSMA fix takes care of this (although not sure why you would say "Some" in the release notes)

I figured it was just an issue with English, as the whole sentence makes no sense biggrin.gif
