I just purchased a Sharp 70LE847. Had it for about a week and I calibrated it myself using the Disney WOW disk and The Essentials disk. Once done the TV had a good picture.
My 29th wedding anniversary was this past weekend and my wife purchased a Professional Calibration from Doug Weil at Clearly Resolved. (OK OK to be honest I purchased it for my wedding anniversary.)
Doug showed up right on time and proceed to explain to me the principals and technology to the calibration. While some of this seemed over my head, I totally appreciated him taking the time to explain it.
I found out quickly that Doug is a perfectionist! He was not satisfied until all the Deltas were very minimal.
Once completed, we looked at some Directv signal, various Blu Ray disk, google tv and apple tv.
His calibration made my set look unbelievable. The colors were dead on and the blacks appeared to be black. How good was it? It made the movie Battleship enjoyable!!!
Doug is a highly professional person and one who truely enjoys his work. He also strikes me as the type who would have stayed for as long as needed and would answer any questions you might have.
