Hello,

I live in 2 bedroom apartment and i want to purchase a very good home theater for my Sony XBR55HX929 TV

i am in Dilemma / Confusion to purchase any of the below home theater systems

1. Sony Home theater ( Model number: BDV-N890W/Z)
Link: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666465637

2. Bose Sound Bar ( Model Number: CineMate® 1 SR home theater speaker system
CineMate® 1 SR home theater speaker system)

3. Bose Home theater ( Model Number: Lifestyle® T20 home theater system)
Link: http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/home_theater/home_theater_for_your_hdtv/lifestyle_t20/index.jsp

I know that above ones are little expensive but my concern is since i stay in 2 bedroom apartment and if i purchase the wired speakers it will be messy in my living room.
if i purchase the sound bar it would be good but what i am thinking is the sound bar costs $1500 and T20 speaker system costs $500 more ($2000)
can anyone please recommend me of purchasing any of the above and help me in setting up the wires
or is it good to get the sound bar ?

Hello and welcome,

When you say "very good" what can you qualify this with? Sound performance? Looks? ease of use?

You can build a great sounding system for $2k, much better sounding than any of those listed above.

If you want to avoid running wires to the back stick with a 3.1 system which is a left center and right and of course a subwoofer. Much better bang for your buck.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. can you suggest me anything apart from the one which i have listed ?

I would suggest going to a Hi Fi store that carry a few lines of speakers and try some for yourself. taking my advice would be like buying a car without a test drive... Packaged deals are rarely top quality.

You can easily get a great HT system for $2000 even by going for a 3.1 setup. And they would all be better than the 3 you mentioned in your original post.

Do you have any size limitations to your speakers? Probably not since the Sony system has slim towers.

You could easily build a $3.1 system for $1000 that would blow away those other setups your mentioned.

That's only $650. I have these in my bedroom system and they could easily fill your 14 x 14 space.

Plenty of receivers in the $300 -$450 that would easily meet your needs.

And if you want to spend up to $2000 for your whole system the options are even better.

As was said above you should visit your local hifi stores to see what's out there. Way too many options available.
