The 2012 Democratic National Convention in HD

Well now it is time for the Dems to have their grand ole party.

So far, the coverage has been excellent, and the screen behind the speakers looks to be much better than the GOP. No issues with moving backgrounds.

Watching via WVIZ-HD (PBS) in Cleveland via DirecTV and C-Span SD.

That place needs new doors, because Deval Patrick just blew them off.

Here's a sample of the same camera shot from CNN, MSNBC, FBN, FNC, WABC, WNBC, WCBS, WNET (PBS), WNJT (PBS) from FiOS.
Overall it could be brighter. CNN has the darkest from the pool video.

I ended up settling on PBS during the RNC. Minimal graphics and station logo low on the screen and unobtrusive (WVIZ Cleveland). CNN was too crapified with their giant "FACTS" bar consuming the bottom third of the screen. CBS with their logos way too high in the 4:3 safe area. ABC and FOX too soft with 720p, why bother.

Is the FOX network covering this? For the RNC convention we had local news at 10pm on FOX5 NYC and it's the same for the DNC convention.

WVIZ Cleveland just screwed up and went to a commercial before Michelle Obama was finished. They botched the Condoleeza Rice speech during the RNC, too.

Watching on CSPAN HD on Comcast again, commercial-free and no interruptions. Reminds me of watching on INHD years ago.

Due to the chance of rain Thursday night is going be done at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

FOX News Channel is. As far as I know, there won't be any coverage on the FOX network.

Convention center needs a new roof after Clinton ripped it off.

Doesn't really matter, nothing can top the GOP convention:

i never heard clinton make more sense than he did last night.

Clinton's speech was great. Nobody's better at being a combination teacher and cheerleader. There's no one on either side with his oratorial skills.

Ended up on C-SPAN as well. I tune in to hear the speeches, not the pundits.

Bubba's speech beat the NFL's kickoff game. Amazing.

CNN's color balance on the close up camera of the speakers is darker and more blue then other cable networks.
It was the same at the RNC convention.

Oink,

I'm glad you like her but to me she's not worth it! They are a lot different on the set of a show versus real life. Too big of an ego for "me". Yes she's pretty but someone somewhere is tired of her BS. The women on the Spanish language stations are prettier and more plentiful! Just my two cents!

I saw her recently on a talk show (Bill Maher?) and she came across as someone very bright and very involved...I was impressed.wink.gif

During the DNC Platform amendment process of 5 September 2012 here's the teleprompter message that Antonio Villaraigosa had to read even though there was not the two-thirds majority required to pass the amendment:
