Video card suggestion

Hi - I currently use my ps3 to play all my ripped blu rays using makemkv. I tried playing these videos with my dell pc with an ati radeon hd 2400 pro through dvi to hdmi adapter to my 50 inch 1080p Panasonic plasma. The image seems darker than the ps3. Do I need a better card to match the quality of the ps3? If so what do you suggest?

wrong forum, but sounds more like a setting than card issue - but that card is of an age (AGP?) that it is borderline for HTPC use.
