In-Ceiling Speakers

Hi,

I have the Onkyo HT-S7409 home theater system.

I mounted them on the wall, but the two middle (left, right) speakers look very ugly on the ceiling. I want to replace them with in-ceiling speakers. The front (left, center, right) and back (left, right) speakers are fine on the wall. But middle speakers look very unattractive in the middle of the room on the ceiling.

Any ideas which in-ceiling speakers I should get to replace the Onkyo ones that are reasonably priced (approx $75-200 for the pair), and where I can get them?

Thanks,
Vlad

I would do in-walls over in-ceiling if you can't use the speakers you have. $75 - $200 will not buy much quality for a pair of in-ceiling or in-wall. You might as well look at Monoprice for options.

I don't think he can do in-wall because, at least the way I am interpreting it, there is no wall to mount the side speaker on. It is a large open space and he was trying to mount a bookshelf from the ceiling.

Sorry about that, I was thinking you were trying to put your front mains in-ceiling. In that case, look for in-ceiling speakers that are angled and possible have directional tweeters. The tweeters are less important if the whole speaker is angled since they are for surround sound (ambient sound). I would still research the Monoprice series given your budget
