I'm excited to give this a try. It sounds like the answer for correcting non linear saturation and luminance response below 100%.

Very nice, hope they do a discount for those with "Auto-Calibrate Add-on".

Way to go Lumagen!

From reading the ChromaPure site it looks like the software to autocalibrate this would be $429 assuming you have a meter already.

Anyone see what Calman costs to get this autocalibration? I have Calman v3, I think... haven't used it in years.

Thanks,

Shawn

I think the numbers are $229 if you do not currently have auto cal and $79 if you do to update to the new feature.

Have you investigated purchasing annual maintenance for your existing V3 licence ?

Depending what licence you already have this starts at $49 and should allow you to upgrade to at V5 Control or Enthusiast for free. If you have an add-on i.e. spectro meter etc on your existing licence you should be upgraded to V5 "Enthusiast" version. Enthusiast is the version required for automated Color Cube calibration. The "Control" version provides auto calibration features but excludes color cube AFAIK.

May be worth a call to Spectracal.

I saw this asked elsewhere and thought it was a valid question:

Is there enough space in the memory of the Radiance to allow each CMS memory to store different settings for this new 125 point calibration, or is there a limit on the number of memories with this range?

I've not seen anything to suggest that each of the 8 CMS profiles cannot be different....

That's good to know. TBH it wouldn't have been a deal breaker (plus I already have one anyway smile.gif ) as I'd have just used the 'regular' CMS on the other memories if need be for my less critical viewing on the second TV. Typical of Lumagen to exceed my expectations though. cool.gif

With CalMAN 5 we have done away with add-ons and gone back to a 3 tier license here is a quick overview of licenses regarding processor/display control:

CalMAN 5 Basic $149 - you pick up the remote and control the processor/display manually
CalMAN 5 Control $299 - adds full AutoCal grayscale/gamma/gamut, Interactive and DDC control, including the new DDC pop-out (DDC is kind of like a virtual remote)
CalMAN 5 Enthusiasts $399 - adds AutoCal 3D LUT for the Radiance 5^3 and the ColorBox 64^3

If you have purchased within the last year or are current on v3/v4 maintenance you get CalMAN 5 Control or CalMAN 5 Enthusiast if you have any add-ons with CalMAN v4.

DDC (Direct Display Control) examples, all those blue lines are controls for increasing/decreasing values:

The prices for both now are very close to the same. Instead of agonizing, I sleep well each night because I have both. And instead of only one company loving you, both will. Need love in your life baby, all it costs is a little money. Seriously both companies make great products and together with Lumsagen they have advanced the art of video calibration. All this new stuff is a great fix. You spent the money before and now you can once again feel the need to use what your purchased and can marvel at your work product. Life is good despite what some negative political ads might say. smile.gif

Derek,

Thanks for the info on pricing. Any upgrade pricing for a v3 owner?

Thanks,

Shawn
