IR extension for Harman Kardon BDS270

Hi, I recently bought a HK BDS270 with I would like to integrate into my existing Marmitek remote IR control set. For the life of me I cannot find the IR receiver eye on the BDS270 - anyone have any idea or technical documentation ? Thanks.
p.s HR offer their own IR extender solution (HE1000) where the single unit costs more then my 8channel Marmitek ....!

I had (!) the exact same problem. My Marmitek is an Invisible Control 6.
The IR Receiver of the BDS270 is immediately centered at the left of the big Volume Knob.
You'll have to tweak with the exact position to get everything right.
There is no documentation whatsoever for this receiver to find this kind of information, but I found it out when I saw a post somewhere about a Samsung HD settop box where the IR receiver was also located near a big volume knob.
And I thought, well, maybe this works for the Harman Kardon as well. And it did after several attempts.

Thanks for your (hopegiving) reaction, however, I am not getting anywhere.
What exactly do you mean with 'immediately centered' ? In relation to what - central the space between the display and the knob, central between top and bottom of the front panel ?
Would it be possible to give me an approximate x,y position in millimeters, using for instance the vertical line from top to bottom of the front panel (82 mm) and the horizontal line between the utmost right of the display and the utmost left of the cavity where the volume knob sits (24mm).
