Can I have some advice for setup? (Sub noob here)

So I finally upgrading my TV and and home theater speakers and was looking for advice on a replacement to this 10 year old Sony powered sub. I wasn't really tring to spend a whole bunch on just a sub as I consider my setup pretty practical and basic and not high end by any means ($200 range hopefully for sub). It'll be mainly used for movie watching and gaming and maybe a little music. The room has hard wood floors and is small to medium sized. I just want something to compliment my speakers now.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TV- Panasonic PDP 55GT50
Receiver- Yamaha 5.1 500W
Front- Polk TSI300
Center- Polk CSIA4
Surround- Polk TSI100

Now my first instinct would be to go for a Polk sub but heard they weren't too great. Or would that be a more practical approach for my setup as I wouldn't need one to shake down the neighborhood.
