To much or to little amp

Hi i just got two Alpine SWR-1023D 10" in a ported box with a 1000 watt rockford fosgate amp. i dont know much about amps and the subs but everyone tells me that that is good. Is it to much or to little amp to power these Alpine SWR-1023D 10" subs

What you need to do is check both the RMS wattageratings on the amp and sub...as well as the ohms or impedance... The amp total rms wattage cannot be higher than the subwoofer or you will eventually blow your sub.. Now the ohms or impedance (same thing ) of the woofer cannot be lower than the amps ohms or you run the risk of damaging the amp... In terms of it being too little... Is the type -R SVC or DVC??? I ask because the voice cool play a role in figuring g out just what the output will be... So get back to me with RMS ratings ohm specs aand SVC or DVC and I can let u kno for sure where u stand

Those are nice subs. Dual 2 ohm coils. My guess is each sub is series wired and then parallel wired for a 2 ohm load at the amp.

What model is the amp? That is more important than that "1000 watt" rating.
